MDFL 1.0: Mikhael Dziakanau Friendly License
Version 1.0 · Identifier LicenseRef-MDFL-1.0 · https://github.com/PozziTiv4ik/MDFL
Copyright (c) 2026 Mikhael Dziakanau (PozziTiv4ik)
In short: play it, put it in modpacks, stream it, review it and build addons for it. Just don't re-upload it or publish changed copies of it.
Modpacks: yes. Videos & streams: yes. Compatibility addons: yes. Reuploads: no. Modified copies: no.
The short version above is a friendly summary. The numbered terms below are the license.
1. Definitions
1.1 "Work" means the project this License comes with (for example a mod, shader pack, resource pack, data pack or other software), including its source code, compiled files, textures, models, sounds, text and other assets, in every version the Licensor releases under this License.
1.2 "Licensor" means the copyright holder named above.
1.3 "Official Source" means a download page the Licensor publishes for the Work, such as its project pages on Modrinth or CurseForge.
1.4 "Modpack" means a collection of several independent mods or other content that is packaged to be installed together, in which the Work is one component among others. A package that is mainly a copy of the Work is not a Modpack.
1.5 "Addon" means a separate project that works with, depends on, extends or adds compatibility with the Work, and does not contain the Work or parts of it, except as allowed in 2.4.
1.6 "You" means the person or organization using this License.
2. What you may do
Under the terms of this License, the Licensor grants You a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive permission to do the following, without asking:
2.1 Play and use. Download, install and use the Work for any purpose: in single-player, on servers of any kind, and in your own worlds, builds and maps.
2.2 Modpacks. Include the Work, unmodified, in Modpacks on any platform or launcher, as long as players can get the Modpack free of charge. Ads, donations and platform reward programs do not count as charging. Where a platform can download the Work from an Official Source (as Modrinth and CurseForge modpacks do), please let it.
2.3 Videos, streams, reviews and more. Show, play, demonstrate, review, criticize, explain and teach the Work in videos, streams, screenshots, articles, wikis and guides, including monetized ones. You may use the Work's name, screenshots and logo to refer to it, for example in titles and thumbnails. This is warmly welcome; a link to an Official Source is appreciated but not required.
2.4 Compatibility and Addons. Study the Work and its source code (where available) to learn from it and to build compatibility. Create and publish Addons and integrations, including ones that use the Work as a dependency, call its API or refer to its identifiers, data formats and method names, and include only the small parts that are strictly necessary for that compatibility. Your Addons are yours, and you may monetize them like any other project.
2.5 Personal changes. Modify the Work for your own use, including on servers you run, as long as you do not distribute the modified files. You may freely share configuration files, presets and settings for the Work.
2.6 Sharing with friends. Give an unmodified copy of the Work to people you know, privately and free of charge, for example to play together.
3. What you may not do
Unless the Licensor allows it in writing, You may not:
3.1 Re-upload. Publish, mirror or distribute the Work outside a Modpack or private sharing under 2.6. Share a link to an Official Source instead.
3.2 Publish modified copies. Distribute modified versions of the Work, including forks, ports to other loaders or game versions, and recompiled, repackaged, reskinned or patched builds.
3.3 Reuse code or assets. Copy the Work's source code, textures, models, sounds or other assets, in whole or in substantial part, into other projects, except as allowed in 2.4.
3.4 Sell. Sell the Work, charge for access to it or put it behind a paywall, on its own or in a Modpack.
3.5 Misrepresent. Claim the Work as your own, remove or change its copyright and license notices, or use the Licensor's name or the Work's name in a way that suggests the Licensor endorses you or your project.
4. Keep it intact
Copies You give to others under 2.2 or 2.6 must be unmodified and must keep this License and every notice included in the Work.
5. Asking for more
Would you like to do something this License does not allow, such as a port, a translation project or an exception for your server? Ask the Licensor. Written permission (an email or a message is enough) applies as given and only to the people it was given to.
6. Contributions
If You send the Licensor code, translations, art or other material for the Work (for example a pull request), You confirm that You have the right to do so, and You allow the Licensor to use, change and publish it as part of the Work, under this License or any other license, free of charge. You keep all other rights in your contribution.
7. Other people's rights
Parts of the Work that belong to others, such as libraries, keep their own terms. This License gives no rights in Minecraft or other third-party products or trademarks. The Work is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
8. Ending and restoring your rights
If You break this License, your permissions under it end automatically. They are restored if You fix the breach within 30 days after You learn about it. People who received copies from You under this License keep their own permissions as long as they follow it.
9. No warranty
The Work is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Licensor and contributors are not liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, arising from or in connection with the Work or its use.
10. General
10.1 Your legal rights. Nothing in this License limits what the law already lets You do without permission, such as quotation, criticism, review or fair use.
10.2 Partial invalidity. If a term cannot be enforced, it is limited only as much as necessary, and the rest of this License stays in effect.
10.3 No waiver. If the Licensor does not enforce a term at one time, the Licensor does not give up the right to enforce it later.
10.4 Versions. Each copy of the Work stays under the license it was released with. A version of the Work released under another license (for example an earlier one) keeps that license. The Licensor may release future versions of the Work under a later version of the MDFL.
10.5 Headings and summary. The summary, icons and headings are for convenience; the numbered terms are what apply.
