Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Patch Notes - 1.20.24
Content:
- The Pedestal block can now be crafted, so ritual crafting is now free game.
- Added the Verdant wood set: log, stripped log, planks, leaves, and sapling, plus the full planks family.
- Added Verdant Hanging Leaves, a decorative vine that hangs down and grows on its own over time.
- Verdant Sapling is placeable for now but won't grow into a tree yet, that's coming in a later update.
Balance & Changes:
- Base mana regen is now 10 per second, up from 1.
- A few runes were tuned down so spells can't scale out of control by stacking the same rune over and over. Ferox (damage), Catena (chaining), and Magnus (size) all cap out lower than before.
- Fixed FULGUR rune was still using the placeholder effect of setting the target on fire. Now it actually uses the Magic damage API dealing thunder damage, and inflicting the spark effect.
- PROCUL range addon from 0.8 -> 2 blocks
- Entropy Catalyst recipe now uses Entropy Shell instead of Cobblestone for its base.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug where hold-to-charge and hold-to-channel spells could end up permanently weaker (or bigger, for Nova-type spells) than intended if the cast got interrupted at the wrong moment.
- Vein Mine now chains across stone/deepslate ore variants (e.g. Iron Ore and Deepslate Iron Ore mine together) instead of stopping at the boundary.
Removed:
- The Conus rune and the cone-shaped spells it made are gone. If you had it in an existing spell, that piece just does nothing now, the rest of the spell still works, it'll just be missing whatever Conus was doing.
- Tomes, the books that permanently taught you a spell when you read them, have been removed. Spell Scrolls are unaffected and still work the same: read one to cast that spell once, then it's used up. Scrolls are now the only way pre-made spells show up as loot, so keep in mind reading one no longer teaches you the spell for good, it just casts it.
Also: stripped out the unused rune element-tag and spell-tag scaffolding (dead code left over from the removed elemental combo system), no player-visible effect.
Heads up: if you're on an older save, you might run into a leftover Tome item or a spell that used Conus. Nothing will crash, but don't be surprised if either one doesn't work like you remember.
