⛏️ BetterMining

Mine smarter, not harder. BetterMining adds two enchantments that make mining faster and less tedious: Vein Miner and Smelting Touch. 💎

✨ Enchantments

⛏️ Vein Miner (3 levels)

Break one ore and the connected ores of the same type break with it. Each level raises the number of extra blocks you can break at once:

• 🔗 Works on the connected vein, including diagonals.
• 🎯 Only breaks blocks your tool can actually mine.
• 🧎 By default it activates while sneaking, so you never break a vein by accident.
• 🔧 Each block broken uses tool durability, and it stops before your tool breaks.
• 🍀 Respects Fortune and Silk Touch on every block.
• 🛡️ Compatible with claim and protection mods, because every block goes through the normal block-break event.
• ⛏️ Available on pickaxes by default.

🔥 Smelting Touch (1 level)

Ores that can be smelted drop already smelted: iron, gold, copper and any other ore with a furnace recipe.

• ⚡ Works with Vein Miner, so a whole vein is smelted as you mine.
• 🍀 Fortune still multiplies your drops before smelting.
• 🪨 Blocks without a furnace recipe drop normally.
• 🚫 Incompatible with Silk Touch.

⚙️ Configuration

Everything is configurable, with an in-game config screen:

• 🔢 Blocks broken per Vein Miner level
• 🧎 Whether sneaking is required
• ✅ Allowed and blocked block lists
• 🔘 Enable or disable each enchantment

🔮 Planned

A 3x3 area-mining enchantment is planned for a future version.
