Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Settings 1.2
First CurseForge release.
What it is
Keeps your client settings in step across every Minecraft instance through one shared folder. On launch the mod compares the shared copy against this instance and, if they differ, shows a prompt over the title screen listing exactly what would change and which instance last saved it - you pick Apply or Skip. Apply keeps a one-deep backup so Restore previous settings can undo it. On quit the mod copies this instance's settings back out to the shared folder.
Synced: options.txt (merged line-by-line) and your multiplayer server list. Instance-local
things - enabled resource packs, sound output device - always stay put.
The shared folder defaults to ~/.minecraft-settings-sync; set it with the
MINECRAFT_SETTINGS_SYNC_DIR environment variable or config/settingssync.properties. Set
enabled=false there to stop one instance syncing.
Modded keybinds
Keybinds added by mods are handled separately from vanilla settings, in their own shared file:
- A modded keybind is only ever applied to an instance that already has that keybind - i.e. the mod is installed. Instances without the mod are never offered it and never have it written in.
- Importing settings never unbinds a mod that isn't part of the shared config - your local bind is kept untouched.
- The shared keybind file is a union that only grows: each instance contributes the binds of the mods it has, and no instance removes another's.
Available for NeoForge, Forge and Fabric on Minecraft 1.21.1 and 26.2.
