Server Nick
A lightweight Forge mod that lets players change their in-server display name with a simple /nick command. No permission plugins or external tools required.

Note on scope
In Minecraft multiplayer, the name above a player's head and in the tab list is tied to account authentication, so it is controlled by the server. This mod updates chat for all clients, while the name tag and tab list update only on clients that also have the mod installed. For full effect, install the mod on the server and on each client.
Installation
- Install Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1.
- Put the jar into the mods folder of both the server and the clients.
- Join and run /nick TestName.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Minecraft Forge 47.x
