ServerModUpdater is a server-side mod for NeoForge that checks for mod updates on Modrinth and CurseForge, with optional AutoModpack support. It provides in-game commands to check, download, and install updates, automatically backs up old JAR files.

What's new

Added

  • Persistent, timestamped Markdown update plans.
  • All update choices are unchecked by default.
  • New plan commands: list, preview, apply, status, and safe cancellation.
  • Timestamped Markdown and JSON execution results.
  • Immediate provider candidate and compatibility revalidation before download.
  • Durable state for safe, idempotent plan reapplication.

Safety

  • Only explicitly checked and verified mod files are updated.
  • Unchecked, unmatched, stale, malformed, or conflicting entries remain untouched.
  • Markdown selections are validated against immutable JSON manifests.
  • Existing .jar.old backup, rollback, crash recovery, checksum, JAR, and path validation are preserved.
  • /amp generate is requested only when an AutoModpack-managed file actually changes.

Existing direct update, bulk update, rollback, localization, reports, Modrinth/CurseForge integration, and exact-hash matching remain supported.

Important: Updated JAR files are not hot-reloaded. Restart the server after applying updates.
