Server Enhancements v1.0.1

Version 1.0.1 introduces Managed Server Profiles, allowing compatible Minecraft servers to provide the exact mod set required for each server and safely switch players between them.

Managed Server Profiles

  • Servers can provide their required mods directly from their own installed JAR files.
  • Each server uses an isolated temporary profile, leaving the player’s normal Minecraft installation and personally installed mods untouched.
  • Players can switch between servers with different mod requirements without manually changing modpacks.
  • If the currently active mods already match the destination server, Minecraft does not need to restart.
  • Otherwise, Server Enhancements prepares the required profile and manages the transition automatically.
  • Client configurations, shader packs, shader settings, window state, and other supported personal settings carry between profiles.
  • Temporary mod installations are safely cleaned up after the managed session exits.
  • Typed /server commands and Command Region transfers both support the new system.

Consent and Transparency

Before downloading or changing anything, players receive a consent screen showing the server’s complete mod profile.

Each mod is identified as:

  • Add for newly required mods
  • Remove for mods not used by the destination server
  • Keep for unchanged mods

Configured CurseForge and Modrinth project-page links appear beside each mod, along with its verification status.

Consent is requested for every connection or server switch by default. Players may optionally select “Do not show again unless this profile changes.” Any added, removed, renamed, or updated file invalidates that saved consent.

Published-File Verification

  • The server checks configured mod pages before offering its profile.
  • The client independently repeats these checks before downloading anything.
  • Received files are checked again before they can be installed or loaded.
  • Confirmed file mismatches are blocked.
  • Files that cannot be verified are clearly marked and require additional acknowledgment.
  • Verification uses validated HTTPS connections to supported official providers.
  • A published-file match confirms file identity—it is not a malware scan or guarantee that the mod itself is safe.

All mod files still come directly from the Minecraft server. They are not downloaded from the linked project pages or another third-party download host.

Security and Reliability

The new profile system includes:

  • SHA-256 verification of transferred files
  • Content-addressed caching for safely reusing unchanged files
  • Protection against duplicate, malformed, unauthorized, or out-of-order transfer requests
  • Consent tied to the exact player, server, profile, and file list
  • Automatic rejection of stale consent requests
  • Safe recovery when downloading, launching, or reconnecting fails
  • Cleanup of temporary profiles and incomplete transfers

Backward Compatibility

Server Enhancements v1.0.1 remains backward compatible by default.

Players using v1.0.0—or clients without Managed Profile support—may still join normally when their existing modpack is compatible. They simply cannot automatically receive missing mods or switch into isolated server profiles.

Server administrators may optionally require v1.0.1 when Managed Profiles are necessary for entry.

Installation

To use Managed Server Profiles, install the same Server Enhancements v1.0.1 JAR in:

  • The client’s Fabric mods folder
  • Every participating Fabric server’s mods folder
  • The Velocity proxy’s plugins folder

Existing World Protection, Command Regions, homes, world spawns, chat enhancements, and other Server Enhancements features remain available.
