What's new

V0.6 — access control

The access control update. Keycards, retinal scanning, the Codebreaker, keypad doors and a version checker — everything that decides who can open what, on top of V0.5's ownership work.

Added

  • Keycard system — Keycard Reader and Keycard Lock, keycard levels 1–5, the Limited Use Keycard and Keycard Holder, all with per-owner linking.
  • Retinal Scanner, Scanner Door, Scanner Trapdoor — opens for whoever the owner allows, by name.
  • Keypad Door, Keypad Trapdoor — passcode-locked doors on top of V0.5's reinforced door work.
  • Universal Key Changer — resets a block's passcode or keycard link.
  • Codebreaker — the attacker's side of the passcode/keycard systems, with its cooldown and failure chance.
  • Version checker — a chat notification on join when a newer release is out, with a download link.
  • Welcome message — a short chat message on join, matching the original's "thanks for using SecurityCraft" line.
  • Locking any modded container (beyond the original) — the Key Panel converts a compatible chest into a real keypad chest, same as upstream. For a container it can't convert (a modded chest that doesn't extend ChestBlock), it instead locks that position directly — same set/check passcode flow, same ownership enforcement, visible in Jade.

Changed

  • Universal Block Remover no longer downgrades a reinforced block to its vanilla counterpart in place — it now instantly destroys and drops the block (you get the reinforced item back), matching the original's actual behaviour. Bypasses the normal, much slower break time same as before.
  • Scanner Door / Scanner Trapdoor no longer auto-close on a timer by default — they only toggle open/closed when looked at, matching the original. An owner can still opt into a timed auto-close through Customize.

Fixed

  • Universal Block Remover had no ownership check at all — anyone could strip a reinforced block's protection. - user_3tn4k7l3efp13vd9 (change name bro  )
  • Universal Owner Changer silently stripped a block's protection when renamed to an offline player — it now resolves the name through the server's profile cache and refuses the transfer if it doesn't resolve to a real account.
  • Retinal Scanner / Scanner Door / Scanner Trapdoor / Keycard Reader / Keycard Lock couldn't open reinforced doors at all — added the missing door-activator hook.
  • Retinal Scanner had a transparent hole where its face should render.
  • Keycard Reader GUI rebuilt to match the original's layout exactly — icons, the Smart Module indicator, signature stepper, and the independent-vs-restricted level toggle logic (was stuck in restricted mode even with a Smart Module installed).
  • Keycard Holder didn't open at all (missing interaction handler), then opened with the wrong layout — now matches the original's real 5-slot single-row GUI.
  • Key Panel would briefly ghost-place itself on the floor when locking a modded container, and now refunds itself when a locked container is mined instead of the panel being lost for good.
  • Codebreaker cooldown, chance, and creative-mode bypass now match the original.
  • SecurityCraft Manual was missing the crafting-grid recipe for seven V0.6 items (they'd been wrongly flagged as "converted, not crafted").
  • Jade now shows the owner for a locked modded container, not just that it's protected.
