SculkBeGone

An end-game holy sword that can be planted in the ground to purge sculk from an entire infestation - and can even scare away the warden!

SculkBeGone

A holy relic for those who have run out of things the Deep Dark can throw at them.

The Artorian Sword of Light is a hand-forged, end-game weapon that does something no other tool in the game does: it undoes sculk. Drive it into the ground near an infestation and watch holy light chain outward through the corruption, block by block, until an Ancient City that took hours to explore is quiet stone again.

This isn't loot. You will never find one in a chest. It has to be built.

What it does

A real weapon firstly. Carried in hand, it swings like a top-tier sword, fire resistant, no durability to manage. It's an artifact, not a tool that wears out.

Plant it, and it goes to work.

Hold *use* for five seconds to drive it into the ground — a proper charging ritual, with light gathering at your feet and the ground cracking with heat where the blade sinks in. Hold *use* on the planted sword for the same five seconds to draw it back out into your hand.

The purge has two speeds. The instant it's planted, everything sculk within 20 blocks is annihilated on the spot — sculk, veins, sensors, shriekers, even catalysts, no resistance, no mercy. Beyond that radius, the holy light keeps crawling outward through whatever's still connected, reaching up to 8 blocks at a time through gaps and corners, for as long as the infestation continues. Plant it once, walk away, come back to silence.

Wardens don't like it. A Warden that lingers too close to an active purifier gets shoved back and loses its target — stay stubborn for a few seconds too long and it flees back into the ground in a burst of sculk and dust.

It looks and sounds like it should. A fully custom model — glowing inner blade, a molten-cracked stone base fused where it enters the ground, and a spinning pommel orb that throws a flash of light every half-turn. Sculk cleansing arcs with real lightning traced across the terrain, striking outward from the orb itself. A short charge sound, then a full custom piece of music plays once the sword is seated — driven through the same system Minecraft's own jukebox records use, so it survives combat and other sound effects without getting cut off.

Crafting

This is one the hardest recipes you will build in a normal playthrough:

A Beacon. A Totem of Undying. Two Enchanted Golden Apples. Two Amethyst Block. — bastion-loot only, no crafting shortcuts. If you can build this, you have already beaten the game in every sense that matters.

Compatibility

- **NeoForge 1.21.1**, no other hard dependencies.
- **Epic Fight** (optional): if you also run Epic Fight and its Dawn Day addon, the sword automatically fights with the Light Greatsword moveset. Works as a normal vanilla-style weapon without either installed.
- **Apotheosis** (optional): it's a real tagged sword with real attributes, so it's eligible for gems, affixes, and rarity upgrades out of the box — no extra setup, and deliberately absent from Apotheosis's own loot tables. This weapon is earned, not found.

What's next

Right now the recipe is invisible to anyone without JEI or a wiki open. A future update will add a discoverable trail — something found early, maybe a book or a waymark, that points a curious player toward what they'll eventually need to build. Further out, this may grow past a single relic into something with its own small cast of enemies guarding the way. No promises on scope yet — the sword works standalone today, and anything beyond that will only ship if it's worth building well.
