๐ŸŸฃ ScriptyZ: Intent | Development Log & Future Roadmap

The beginning of a more intelligent Minecraft interaction system.

Welcome to the development log for ScriptyZ: Intent!

Intent is a Minecraft quality-of-life mod designed to make interactions with the world feel more informative, responsive, and immersive. The goal is simple: give players a preview of what their actions will do before they actually perform them.

Rather than blindly interacting with blocks and hoping for the result you expect, Intent aims to show you what your tools can do, what a block can become, and what interactions are available directly in front of you.

And this is only the beginning.

๐Ÿ“‹ CURRENT FEATURES

Here's what has been implemented in the current development build:

1. Predictive Block Interactions

  • Displays possible interactions when looking at compatible blocks.

  • Predicts what will happen when using the currently held tool.

  • Shows multiple possible outcomes when applicable.

  • Helps players understand what their tools can do before interacting.

2. Dual Interaction Preview

  • Displays two potential interactions simultaneously when available.

  • The current interface places the previews directly underneath the crosshair.

  • The left preview represents the primary action, while the right preview displays an alternative action.

  • Example: Looking at a spruce log while holding an axe displays Break on the left and Strip on the right.

3. Animated Interaction Cards

  • Animated previews for available actions.

  • Smooth transitions when switching between possible interactions.

  • Visual feedback designed to make the system feel integrated into Minecraft rather than like an additional HUD cluttering the screen.

4. Contextual Tool Detection

Intent is being developed around the idea that different tools should provide different interaction possibilities. What you are holding should influence what the interface predicts.

๐Ÿ”ง KNOWN ISSUES & IMPROVEMENTS

There are a few things I already know need additional work. These are acknowledged development areas, not forgotten features.

1. Mining Animation Flickering

The current mining animation has a visible flicker that I want to improve. I am aware of this issue, and I want to make the animation considerably smoother and more consistent.

The goal is to eliminate the distracting flickering and make the animation feel natural throughout the mining process.

2. Improved 3D Block Animations

One of the major upcoming improvements is expanding the way 3D block models are loaded and displayed in the interaction previews.

I want the actual block models to appear properly in the preview cards, with smooth animations and consistent rendering.

3. Mining Animations Across All Blocks

Mining animations need to work properly and consistently across the board.

I want to expand compatibility so that blocks aren't left behind with missing, incorrect, or inconsistent mining animations.

4. Prediction Accuracy

The prediction system will continue to be refined so that the correct actions appear for the correct blocks and tools.

The goal is to make Intent reliable, not just visually appealing.

๐Ÿš€ WHAT'S COMING NEXT

This is where things get considerably more interesting.

1. Expanded Tool Interactions

I want to expand the number of actions Intent can recognize and predict.

This includes exploring additional interactions involving:

  • Axes: stripping logs, removing bark, and other applicable interactions.

  • Shovels: creating paths and other applicable block transformations.

  • Hoes: tilling suitable blocks.

  • Pickaxes: mining and other tool-specific interactions.

  • Shears: applicable block and entity interactions.

  • Other functional tools and specialized interactions.

These are examples of potential coverage, not a claim that every interaction is already implemented.

2. Secondary Action Predictions

I want Intent to recognize more than just the obvious primary action.

If a tool has a secondary function, alternative interaction, or another useful action that the player might not immediately recognize, Intent should eventually be able to display that possibility.

The dual-preview system is just the foundation. I want to explore how far we can take contextual interaction predictions.

3. Fully Customizable Settings Menu

A dedicated settings tab is planned, allowing players to customize their Intent experience.

Potential settings include:

  • Enable or disable individual interaction previews.

  • Toggle primary and secondary predictions.

  • Adjust preview card size.

  • Customize HUD positioning.

  • Configure animation speed and behavior.

  • Adjust visual effects and transitions.

  • Customize colors and interface appearance.

  • Control which tools and interactions are supported.

  • Additional performance and accessibility options.

The objective is to give players control over how Intent looks and behaves instead of forcing everyone to use the same configuration.

4. Advanced Animation Improvements

Expect more work on:

  • Smoother mining animations.

  • Better block model transitions.

  • Improved 3D previews.

  • More responsive interaction animations.

  • Consistent visual feedback when changing tools or targets.

  • Better transitions when multiple predictions are available.

5. Expanded Block Compatibility

I want to push compatibility much further so that Intent can recognize a wider variety of Minecraft blocks, transformations, and tool interactions.

The long-term goal is to make the prediction system feel useful throughout normal gameplay, not just in a handful of situations.

6. Overall Interface Polish

The interface will continue to receive visual improvements, animation refinements, and performance optimization.

I want to preserve the current design direction: compact interaction cards beneath the crosshair, with enough room for the 3D previews to remain readable without taking over the screen.

๐Ÿ’ฌ COMMUNITY FEEDBACK & SUGGESTIONS

I'm looking for suggestions!

If there are any functional tools, secondary tool interactions, block transformations, or alternative predictions that I have missed so far, please mention them in the comments.

For example:

  • Are there tool interactions you think should have their own prediction?

  • Are there blocks that have multiple possible outcomes?

  • Are there secondary actions that would make sense to display?

  • Are there useful interactions that you think other players regularly overlook?

Feel free to suggest anything that would make Intent more useful.

I want to expand the interaction database and make sure we're not overlooking useful functionality.

๐Ÿ”ฎ THE BIGGER PICTURE

I want to make something clear: this is only the beginning of ScriptyZ: Intent.

The current build is the foundation of a much larger system. There is still plenty to improve, expand, and experiment with.

The goal isn't simply to display two little cards underneath the crosshair. The goal is to develop a complete contextual interaction system that understands what the player is looking at, what tool they're holding, and what actions are actually possible.

With expanded tool recognition, more accurate predictions, proper 3D block previews, smoother animations, and a fully customizable settings menu, I want Intent to become a genuinely useful part of everyday Minecraft gameplay.

There is a lot more planned, and I don't want to limit the project to what it can currently do.

This is just the first step. More interactions, more animations, more customization, and a whole lot more are coming.

Thanks for following the development of ScriptyZ: Intent! ๐Ÿ’œ
