Minecraft Schematics Mod
A self contained mod for handling schematics in game. Schematics in the game directory schematic folder are auto loaded into the creative menu and can also be created using an empty schematic and selecting two points to make a new one. Loaded schematics show a material cost and size along with the blocks used. Large schematics are threaded and chunked to keep lag down to a minimum.
Blocks and Items
- Schematic
- The Schematic item is the main component of the mod, you can craft a blank one and then convert it to one from a saved schematic using the architect's desk. If you want to create your own right clicking with a blank schematic in hand will set the corners of a new schematic and left clicking a block after both corners are set will prompt if you want to create a new schematic.
- Architect's Desk
- The Architect's Desk allows you to convert a blank Schematic into one that is saved in your Minecraft data folder. Generating a schematic this way costs gold proportional to the size with each 500 blocks increasing the price 1 ingot.
Using the Items
The Desk
When you first click the desk it is empty. You can place an empty schematic in the lower left slot. Notice only your hotbar is accessible so make sure you have space and the right items.
You can cycle though schematics without paying for the gold and it will show the title and top 5 most common materials in order.
Put the gold in the top slot and viola you have a new schematic based on a saved file. Now its easy to bring in schematics you downloaded online, currently the schematics have to be in the server schematic location, local transfer has not been built yet.
The Schematic
Preview and Build
You can place the schematic on a wall or on a ceiling facing any direction and it will build from that position. Note that it will only build upwards since there are certain issues with rotating schematics on other axes.
Left click it once and it will preview the schematic. If you shift (sneak) left click it during this phase it will rotate 90 degrees. Now you can see your build before to make sure its in the right spot. Don't worry breaking the sign will return the schematic to you.
Left click it again and it will show the required materials needed to complete the build. If you are in creative or changed the config setting it will build without adding in any materials, otherwise it will cost you. Whatever building materials are required to build the structure are needed or it will give an error. You don't need the 100% exact materials as long as the materials are the right type, like stained terracotta can be any color, same with wool etc...
Selecting and Creating Schematics
With an empty schematic if you want to create a brand new schematic, you totally can. Just left click a block to set the first corner.
Then select the other corner by left clicking the next block. Note you cannot select air so you might have to build a tower in order to select the area you need.
Right click on a block and you will be asked if you want to save the schematic that encompasses the area that has been selected. If you don't like the area you selected just right click in the air and it will reset the selected area.
And success! You now have a schematic that is a copy of the area you highlighted. It is named after you and the time it was created.
As others have posted, your directions aren't working. I've got the area selected just fine, but I can't get the save prompt to show up. Mind helping me out?

You have to sneak + Right click for it to work
i'm not sure how to save, I tried right clicking on the blocks, but it didn't work. am I missing something?
It seems a very interesting mod but is it still active?
So nice mod. One question. If i set the blueprint and hologram appears, i got massivly fps dropdowns. Is their a way to stable the fps?

I really think you should disable the "Replace Blocks with Air" option when placing blueprints, as that allows for "cheating" and excavating large portions of land in survival. Another suggestion would be to keep the "require exact resource" option, but (when it's disabled) actually use the item that has the same datavalue, instead of "converting" it to the one in the schematic. I understand this is more complex than just checking if the items have the same value and placing the schematic anyway, but it would allow for interesting variations within the same schematic. I could for example, build a structure of a specific wood and stone and then when constructing change the stone to granite by using it as a material instead. Otherwise, I really like your mod! Good job!
This mod is awesome!
but these mods do not work properly:
ArchitectureCraft - TridentMC Version
Chisels & Bits
ProjectRed
Hi, first of all let me say, I love this mod! However, this will probably seem like an extremely noob question but how do I lower the position of my house? Everytime I load a schematic it's several metres off the ground.
In reply to Forge_User_99122989:
Usually that means that the schematic was saved with an offset. Its tricky to fix that without editing the schematic manually. when it saves the schematic it saves it from the lowest position selected as the bottom so if you selected an area and then stood at a different location or elevation it would not matter when saving. hope this helps a little
Does this work for 1.15.2? Really want a mod like this
In reply to Forge_User_37967439:
Currently it does not but seeing as I am stuck at home for the time being, all the more reason to update things. Might take awhile to reacquaint myself with the changes in forge since I last built mods but I intend to update this for the newer versions of minecraft.
Since yesterday, the schematics aren't build properly. I'v got all the materials, but when the building is finished, it missing a lot of blocks. I have tried this even in creative, and I got the same result. Do I have to re-install the mod?
In reply to sorcererassassin_yt:
what version are you playing on?
In reply to sorcererassassin_yt:
hmm it sounds like it might not be able to place the blocks due to some reason or another. Are there modded blocks that are in the schematic?
Hi, I don't know how to upload photos, but I have the same error.
Also the error is more bigger when the construction that I pasted is bigger and I closed the server and opened it again and nothing

Yeah its an OpenGL issue that I haven't had time getting around to fixing. Its sorta hard to figure out what is going on but something isn't being cleaned up properly and the texture is just being rendered on an empty block. Maybe try putting a block and then removing it from that space?
Hi! great work! really amasing!
Just a question by noobik^ where schematics are stored in Minecraft folder? On root? in the mods folder?
If i've got a .schematic file from inetrnet where shoild I store it to be available for the mod?
In reply to ayka_sova:
In the root folder of the server there should be a folder named schematics that is where all schematics should be stored if you want to use them on your server
The desk just deletes my empty schematics when I try and put it in the bottom left slow, even a tooltip appears saying click to delete.
So, how do I go about loading a schematic that I've saved?
