- By default, press V to release one scan; the keybind can be re-bound in Minecraft's Controls settings.
- The scan wave expands outward from the player's position, with a maximum radius of 48 blocks, lasts for 60 ticks, and retains a 5‑tick fading trail.
- The orange scan band conforms to the actual visible surfaces of blocks, rather than floating rings, ground rings, or screen overlays.
- When the wavefront reaches a normal chest or trapped chest, it displays the corresponding actual item model above the chest.
- Chest markers ignore depth occlusion, so they remain visible even if the chest is behind a wall.
- Triggering consecutively replaces the old scan with a new one; scan states do not accumulate indefinitely. It only reads chunks already loaded on the client, does not request new chunks, does not modify the world, and does not send any additional network data.
