Description

This mod ports the immersive suppression, damage indicator and sniper glare experience to the SuperbWarfare gun mod, heavily inspired by the incredible TaCZ: Presence by Alfr3XD. The suppression system is based on TaCZ SBW Suppression by Liko, reworked and expanded for SBW.

Credits: Big thanks to Alfr3XD for the original Presence concept and to Liko for the suppression foundation. This mod builds on their work to bring the same immersive experience to SuperbWarfare players.

Why was this mod made?

Originally created as a port of the suppression system from TACZ to SuperbWarfare, it grew into a full-featured immersion mod. Playing modded firefights with SBW felt flat — no feedback when getting shot at, no way to tell where fire was coming from. This mod fixes that.

What does this mod add?

Combat Feedback & Suppression

  • Suppression System — When bullets fly past you, hit blocks nearby, or explode close by, your screen accumulates suppression effects: vignette darkening and camera flinch. The effect builds up under sustained fire and decays when you're safe.
  • Damage Direction Indicator — An arc on your HUD pointing toward the direction of incoming fire. Works with direct bullet hits, nearby impacts, and explosions. Know exactly where the threat is.
  • Scope Glare — Inspired by games like Battlefield and Fortnite. When an enemy aims at you with a sniper weapon, you'll see a bright glint reflecting off their optic. Spot long range threats before they take the shot and react before it's too late.

Visual Effects

  • Screen Tint & Vignette — Progressive red/black tint and edge vignette that scales with suppression intensity.
  • Camera Flinch — Random-direction camera jerk when taking suppression impact, inspired by tactical shooters like Squad.

Technical

  • Server authoritative — All suppression parameters are controlled server-side via sbwpresence-server.toml. Clients receive synced settings on join.
  • Multiplayer ready — Suppression is calculated server-side and sent via optimized network packets. Near-miss detection also works client-side for responsiveness.
  • Optimized — Minimal performance impact. Configurable ranges and intensity to suit your playstyle.
  • CurseForge dependency free — Only requires SuperbWarfare. blur-forge is optional.
