What's new

Savaru's Affixology 3.1.0 / NeoForge 2.1.9

Three mana affixes, and the vulnerability family becomes a set of real attributes.

New affixes

Affix Effect
Mana Blade Converts your Mana into offence by weapon type — attack damage on a melee weapon, spell power on a staff (double rate), ranged damage on a bow or crossbow (a fifth). Recalculated live, so it tracks your pool rather than freezing at the value it had when the item was rolled.
Mana on Hit Chance on a damaging hit to restore 5% of your maximum Mana.
Mana Burst Chance on a damaging hit to spend your entire pool for magic damage equal to three times the amount spent. 15 second cooldown.

The listed rates are the top of each range; rarity scales the roll down from there, exactly as with every other affix.

All three need a mana provider — currently Savaru's Mana on Fabric. Without one they roll and display but stay dormant, so nothing misbehaves in a pack that has no mana system.

Vulnerability is measurable

The vulnerability family used to attach itself to attributes owned by Extra Spell Attributes, which removed them in 1.7.0. The affixes still rolled and still appeared in tooltips while doing nothing an attribute panel could show.

They are registered by Affixology itself from this version, and they sit on the player:

  • Attribute panels and other mods can read them
  • Growthology talents, potions and any other source of attribute modifiers can raise them
  • The damage calculation reads the attribute total rather than re-summing your gear, so every one of those sources counts

Existing items keep their rolls; nothing needs re-rolling.

Fixed

  • Vulnerability modifiers used ADD_MULTIPLIED_BASE, which scales an attribute's base value. These attributes have a base of zero, so the roll multiplied out to nothing however high it was. They now use ADD_VALUE and apply the rolled percentage directly.
