Bring the power of the desert to your world. The Sand Gourd is a highly interactive, autonomous combat and defense mod inspired by Gaara of the Sand. By equipping the Sand Gourd in your off-hand, you gain access to a dynamic Chakra system, reactive environmental protections, and an on-screen radial wheel packed with devastating 3D sand jutsus.
Autonomous Protections
The gourd protects its host without requiring manual inputs, consuming Chakra to keep you alive:

Absolute Defense: Automatically intercepts incoming projectiles and melee attacks with a 3D Sand Sphere.

Sand Clone Substitution: Surviving fatal blows or heavy armor-piercing damage instantly teleports you away, leaving behind a fighting Sand Clone that draws aggro and shoots sand bullets at enemies.

Auto-Recovery: If your health drops and you have sufficient Chakra, the sand automatically feeds you a Golden Sand Apple, granting Regeneration, Absorption, and Saturation.

Environmental Mastery: Automatically generates air bubbles underwater, creates floating sand pads to negate fall damage, douses burning entities, and transmutes lethal Magma and Lava blocks into safe Sandstone.
Chakra & Sand Mastery

Leveling System: Absorb vanilla experience orbs to level up your Sand Mastery, increasing your Max Chakra pool and boosting Jutsu damage by +12% per level.

Meditation: Chakra regenerates passively over time. With an empty main hand, hold Shift to meditate, recharging your Chakra three times faster with a visible aura.
Active Sand Jutsus (Radial Ability Wheel)
Hold Shift + Left-Click with an empty main hand to open the interactive Radial Ability Wheel and cycle through 6 legendary techniques:

Sand Coffin & Burial: Encase a target in a mid-air sand prison before imploding it for massive damage.

Sand Tsunami Wave: Unleash a sweeping, multi-block high tidal wave of sand that crushes and buries everything in its path.

Shukaku's Sand Pike: Hurl a massive, multi-part 3D sandstone spear that pierces targets.

Sand Hail Shower: Summon a skyward sand cloud that rains high-velocity armor-piercing sand bullets.

Quicksand Imperial Funeral: Transform a 9x9 area into a swirling vortex that pulls enemies to the center, leaving a lingering quicksand trap that suffocates mobs like powder snow.

Third Eye Scouting: Safely leave your physical body encased in a Sand Sphere while you pilot an invisible, flying 3D eye to scout through walls and caves.

Shukaku's Insomnia Curse
True power comes with a heavy toll. Equipping the gourd and burning Chakra slowly builds an unremovable Insomnia Curse timer.

Bed Nightmares: You can right-click a bed to set your spawn point and recover some Chakra, but the restless spirit inside the gourd will not let you sleep. Attempting to rest triggers a terrifying hallucination, blinding you and echoing zombie whispers in your ears.

Sanity Breakdown: Reaching Stage 3 Insomnia forces you into an exhausted state, drastically increasing the Chakra cost of all abilities.

The Cure: You cannot clear this debuff with milk while the gourd is equipped. You must unequip the gourd and hold Shift to meditate, stand in cooling water, or drink milk/honey to soothe your mind and reduce the curse timer.
Server Configurations
The mod is fully customizable for server owners via the sandgourd-common.toml config file:

Jutsu Toggles: Individually enable or disable any of the 6 wheel abilities, sand cloud flight, or sand shurikens.

Curse Tuning: Adjust the severity multiplier of the Insomnia curse, set the exact threshold for Stage 3 exhaustion, or disable the curse entirely.

Crafting & Uniqueness: Toggle the survival crafting recipe on or off. Enable the uniqueGourdOnly setting to restrict the entire server to a single Sand Gourd artifact.
