saintcorpse

Eight pieces of a saint's corpse are scattered across the world. Track them with corpse maps, wear them in eight Curios slots, and assemble a relic that shelters you from harm — JoJo Part 7 flavored.

Description

Eight pieces of a saint are buried in eight different places — and the world was born with them already in the ground.

Track them down, wear them, and stop being entirely human. Saint's Corpse is a relic hunt for Forge 1.20.1, inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 7.

Just a heads-up: this is an add-on mod made based on Roundabout: The JoJo Mod. If you don't install the main mod beforehand, you can still play the game normally, but some content will be missing. Also, this mod has some one-way interactions with Roundabout, like The Heart being able to awaken D4C. But in reality, this feature is turned off by default because Roundabout hasn't updated D4C yet. And when it is on, awakening only ever happens on a character who has no stand at all — an existing stand is never replaced.

The hunt

Every relic structure exists from the moment the world is created — walk there and it is already standing, map or no map. All of them lie at least 20,000 blocks from world spawn (configurable), so the maps are not optional.

  • Devil's Palms — two of them, hidden in desert and badlands. Brush the suspicious sand: one palm holds the heart, the other the left arm.
  • The Eye Altar — a stone face on a mountain peak. The eyes sit right on its brow; one right-click each, take them off.
  • The Sugar Tree — a colossal tree on snowy peaks with a spring at its heart. The man inside trades the ears and the right arm.
  • The Guardian Wolf — a wolf roaming the snowy plains carries the legs.
  • The Gravestone — the spine lies beneath it, in a village plains.
  • Ocean ruins — shipwrecks and buried treasures hide the ribs, and only them.

Corpse Maps turn up in dungeon chests. Right-click one and it marks its target with a red X — and it never points at a piece you already own. Reading a map also stops new ones from spawning for 10 minutes. While you hold a map, a golden arrow above your crosshair keeps pointing the way — with the piece's name and the distance left. No waypoint mod required.

The terrain decides the piece. If a map senses nothing nearby, it tells you which terrain to search next.

Craft a map from an eye plus a blank map — the eye is not consumed.

Wear them

Eight dedicated Curios slots: head, eyes, ears, heart, spine, ribs, arms and legs. Every part grants +1 heart, and left/right pieces combine into paired gear.

  • Skull — Luck I, and a 20% chance to shrug off damage entirely
  • Eyes — 30-block ore X-ray and permanent night vision
  • Ears — nearby mobs are outlined through walls
  • Heart — Regeneration I, plus 5 extra hearts
  • Spine — blink to your crosshair (30 blocks, G), swim faster, and cheat death once by being flung 100+ blocks away
  • Ribs — armor, knockback resistance, Resistance I and Water Breathing
  • Arms — Haste I and Strength I (Strength II with both arms)
  • Legs — Speed I, Jump Boost I, and you never trample farmland

V toggles the ore X-ray, B toggles mob sensing.

Who gets to keep them

Wearing a piece means someone can take it off you. If another player lands the killing blow, everything you are wearing drops where you fell — even with keep-inventory on.

Only the eight worn slots: your inventory, hands and offhand are untouched. A player's arrow or trident counts as the player; a wolf or a summon does not. The pieces land with a short pickup delay, so the killer has to walk over and pick them up himself.

And the ledger does not reset. The pieces change hands, but the world still only ever holds one of each — killing for a relic does not mint a second one.

Not your game? death.dropOnDeath in config/saintcorpse-common.toml turns the whole thing off.

The sanctuary

Assemble the parts into a corpse and place it. Inside the relic's reach, players take 80% less damage, are immune to negative effects, cannot be killed by commands, and hostile mobs neither spawn nor approach.

Lucy and Love Train

Enshrine Lucy Steele at the corpse and Love Train begins: a golden ring 50 blocks wide where nothing hostile spawns, with the light band drawn exactly on the boundary.

Compatibility

  • Curios API — required. The eight slots are built on it.
  • Roundabout — optional. Adds stand integration, plus the Locacaca fruit, which is the only way to end Love Train.
  • Part effects are individually configurable: night vision, jump boost, spine escape distance and cooldown, skull dodge chance, sanctuary radii, the minimum distance of the relic structures, and whether death costs you what you wear.
  • Ships with English and Simplified Chinese.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.x
  • Java 17
  • Install on both client and server
