Safe Leash

Leashed mobs can be vulnerable in ways many players don’t expect.
If a mob is pulled underwater — by a boat, a player, another mob, or currents — it can drown while still tethered.
Mobs that are untied naturally float to the surface, but leashed mobs remain at risk.

Safe Leash is a lightweight NeoForge mod for Minecraft 1.21.6+ that makes leash behavior safer and more predictable.

✨ What it does

When a leashed mob takes drowning damage:
- The leash is dropped as an item, freeing the mob
- The mob receives Water Breathing for 10 seconds to safely resurface

This can be understood as the mob panicking, breaking free, and instinctively holding its breath long enough to reach the surface.
