The Rubies&Health mod adds rubies that players previously added to resource packs instead of emeralds. However, the mod will allow you to get both rubies and emeralds at the same time.
Rubies can be obtained either from ore or from ruby plant.
Ruby plant can be obtained simply by wandering around the world. They come across often, ruby plant itself drops from them and rubies with some chance.
