Vertical Slabs

For every variant of slab in the vanilla game, this mod adds additional vertical variants.

Crafting

The vertical slabs are created with the same recipe as the original versions, albeit with three blocks in a column instead of a row. For stone-based slabs, the vertical versions also will now show up in the stonecutter alongside their original version.

Placement

Placing on the side of a block will always orient the vertical slab against that block. When placing on the ground, the orientation is determined by the region within the block that you clicked.

In this case, I am aiming at the top (farthest) region of the block. The guidelines have been added for demonstration purposes only and do not appear in game.

After clicking in the top region, the vertical slab is placed on the half of the block position associated with that region.

Waterlogging

The vertical slabs behave similarly to stairs when it comes to water. The block can be waterlogged, and the water will flow in all three directions away from the solid side.

Orientation and double slabs

Some vanilla slabs have a texture that is orientation-specific. Because of this, the vertical slabs will have the same texture as the horizontal version, but rotated accordingly. Additionally, the slabs with special double variant (i.e. sandstone and smooth stone) will maintain their orientation (north, south, east, west) when made into the double block.
