🥩 Rot Timer — Realistic Food Spoilage
Make survival harder! Every edible item now has a limited shelf life. Leave food in your inventory too long and it will rot into Rotten Flesh. Manage your food wisely or starve!
✨ Features
- Food Spoilage System — All food rots over time (default: ~40 minutes)
- Temperature Matters — Cold biomes preserve food 4x longer, hot biomes spoil it 2x faster
- Container Storage — Barrels extend food life by 2x, chests keep it normal
- Canned Food — Craft Tinkan stews that last 5x longer than regular food
- New Crops — Grow tomatoes! Buy seeds from Farmer Villagers
- 16 New Items — Tin cans, jars, cheese, flour, pasta, forcemeat, chicken legs, jams & more
- Configurable — Customize spoil rates, scan radius, temperature multipliers, item blacklists
🍖 How It Works
Every food item gets a hidden timer when placed in a container or inventory. When time runs out — poof, it becomes Rotten Flesh!
The spoil rate depends on:
- Biome Temperature — Tundra = food lasts forever, Desert = food rots fast
- Container Type — Barrels are cool and dark (2x bonus), chests are neutral
- Item Type — Canned food (Tinkan) lasts 5x longer
Configuration
A Rottimer.toml config file is generated on first launch. Server admins and modpack creators can customize everything:
