Description
This was made at a friend's request.
This is a very small mod that adds a Root Golem.
It's exactly what it sounds like. It's a golem made from rooted dirt, the same way that an Iron Golem is made from iron blocks.
Behaviorally, however, they're very different. Rather than combat, Root Golems are tools for re-forestation.
They have an inventory of their own in which they can hold saplings, which they will plant within a custom boundary that you set using Boundary Markers (this includes modded saplings). The boundary markers connect to each other in sequence, up to 64 blocks away, and when at least three are placed down and connected, they can be connected back to the first one to create a closed boundary. Boundary area borders are only visible while holding a boundary marker.
A Root Golem made inside this boundary will automatically plant any saplings given, and it will pick up any dropped saplings and plant them, too. Default spacing for the planted saplings is 8 blocks, but it can be changed on a per-area basis by right-clicking one of the boundary markers of the area with a stick. They also won't plant any saplings within 2 spaces of a Path, so big trees won't cover the path when grown.
A boundary area can be expanded by using a boundary marker on one that's already part of a boundary. This will turn the connected boundary line white, and placing the held marker will replace the white line, connecting it to the two markers the line was connected to.
This mod's code was primarily written by Claude, and checked over by human eyes.
