Romaji Chat

Romaji Chat is a server-side Fabric mod that converts chat typed in romaji (Japanese written with Latin letters) into Japanese. Install it on the server only. Players do not need to install anything.

Features

• Converts romaji-only chat messages into Japanese, with the original romaji shown in gray
• Kanji conversion uses Google's Japanese input service; falls back to hiragana if it is unavailable
• Leaves these messages untouched: messages that already contain Japanese, common English words (gg, ok, lol, hello…), all-caps words (OK, TNT), and text that cannot be read as romaji
• Casual words such as "おお", "すご", "まじ", "やば" stay in hiragana
• /jp toggles conversion for your own messages (available to everyone)

Installation

1. Install Fabric Loader and Fabric API on your server
2. Put the Romaji Chat jar into the server's mods folder
3. Start the server. The config file is created automatically

Restart the server after changing the config.

Privacy

When kanji is true, the text being converted (in hiragana) is sent to Google to get kanji candidates. Only that text is sent, not player names. Set kanji to false if you do not want chat text sent to an external service. This kanji conversion endpoint is not an officially supported Google API and may stop working in the future (hiragana conversion will keep working).

日本語

ローマ字で打ったチャットを、日本語（ひらがな・漢字）にして表示する、サーバー用の Fabric MOD です。 サーバーに入れるだけで動きます。 参加する人は、何も入れなくてOKです。

• ローマ字だけのチャットを日本語にして、うしろに元のローマ字を灰色で付けます
• 漢字への変換には Google の日本語変換を使います。つながらないときは、ひらがなで表示します
• 日本語が入っている文、英語、全部大文字の言葉、ローマ字として読めない文は、そのまま流します
• 「おお」「すご」「まじ」などの話し言葉は、ひらがなのままにします
• /jp で、自分のチャットの変換をオン・オフできます

プライバシー： kanji が true のとき、変換する文字（ひらがな）を Google に送ります。プレイヤー名は送りません。送りたくない場合は kanji を false にしてください。
