What's new

RNGTech 2.0.0-alpha.1

The first alpha of RNGTech 2.0. It brings the machine passive tree and ascendancies; Unique items and Corruption arrive in later 2.0 alphas. Expect balance changes between alphas, and back up your world before updating.

Highlights

  • Machine passive tree. Crushers, Furnaces, Alloy Furnaces, Metal Presses, Resonance Calibrators, Melters, and the Forestry Companion now share one 1,346-node passive tree with attributes, notables, and keystones. Copy and paste build codes between machines.
  • Ascendancies. Ascendancy Seals unlock a specialization tree for each machine family.
  • Player wiki. Every machine now has a page with crafting grids and recipe tables generated from the mod's data: https://c-pettersson.github.io/rngtech/
  • Jade overlays with detailed stats and tanks for every machine.
  • Shift-hover stat math shows how each machine stat adds up, and marks which part modifiers are local.

Energy

  • New Cathode Gear for the Corrosion Cell and Anodes from the Component Assembler.
  • The Potential Reactor values burned Gear by stage and Mastery, and repeated fuel fatigues.
  • Cavitation and Vacuum Collapse generators vent overflow instead of stalling.
  • Generator balance pass: solid fuel values fixed, Syngas and Ammonia output raised, Stage 5 solar and Void Catalyst output cut.
  • Connector tiers are now the real FE limit across machines. The Cavitation Generator, Vacuum Collapse Generator, and Solar Array Controller no longer have an Energy Connector Gear slot.
  • Generators show their final FE/t with a source breakdown.

Machines and automation

  • Batch processing: Batch Size and Batch Overhead stats.
  • Crusher yield is anchored, and big yield rolls now trade against speed.
  • Universal Cable splits item and fluid shipments evenly across receivers.
  • Machine inputs reject items that no recipe can use.
  • Forestry Companion rebalance, plus fixes for skipped trees and Tree Too Large stalls.
  • Removed Super Output from the Component Recycler and the calibrate-recycle loop.

Fixes

  • Affix Forge currencies, slots, and hover text repaired.
  • Crushers no longer roll input filter values that do nothing.
  • Bulk Speed no longer rolls on generators that ignore it; part energy modifiers stay local.
  • Catalyst Bed and Fuel Cell Membrane rolls now apply.
  • Tank fluid names sync to machine screens; several GUI layouts aligned.
  • Jade plugin no longer breaks on duplicate config keys.
  • FTB Quests extra: Invar quest asks for an Invar Ingot.

Upgrading from 1.2.0

  • Passive trees reset. The old Furnace, Crusher, and Forestry Companion trees are replaced by the shared tree. Machines keep their XP and level, and every earned point comes back unspent. A Crusher that relied on a stage-support node to run a higher-stage Crush Head stops crushing until you take a matching node again or swap the head.
  • Removed Gear slots drop their items. Energy Connectors in a Cavitation Generator, Vacuum Collapse Generator, or Solar Array Controller drop next to the machine the first time it loads. In a chunk-loaded base that can happen at server start with nobody nearby, and dropped items despawn after five minutes, so remove those connectors in 1.2.0 before updating.
  • Retired affixes stay inert. Static Drain and the Component Recycler's Super Output no longer do anything. Items that rolled them keep the affix, and the Affix Forge cannot reroll it.
  • Servers and clients must match. A 1.2.0 client cannot join a 2.0 server.
