RingWorld 1.3 for Minecraft 26.3 (NeoForge)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
RingWorld 1.3 — Minecraft 26.3 (NeoForge)
World creation and controls
- Rebuilt the world-creation editor with separate Ring, Terrain, Walls, Sky and Preview pages. The selected wall style is shown beside its controls.
- Seed preview now has a Use button. Rerolling or typing changes only the preview; Use locks in the candidate, and Apply settings copies that seed to Minecraft's World tab. Cancelling discards unapplied changes.
- Separated world-generation controls from the player's Low, Medium and High distant-ring detail setting.
Rendering and gameplay
- Fixed the block-selection outline and mining cracks drifting away from the targeted block above or below the ring surface.
- Fixed distant terrain polygons flashing as the camera moves, especially on ridges and high-contrast structures. Filtered wall textures reduce shimmer.
- Replaced irregular transition speckle with a fixed ordered fade between real blocks and distant terrain.
- Reduced the pale fog line over land, brought distant wall colours closer to the active block textures (including resource packs), and made water fade toward the distant colour more gradually. The Atlas now records actual water coverage, including rivers and water above sea level.
Stability and performance
- Reuses unchanged distant-wall textures during Atlas updates, reducing GPU uploads. Complete Atlas cache snapshots wait until incoming tile updates settle, reducing repeat copy work.
- NeoForge now accepts loader builds newer than the tested minimum without changing Minecraft version requirements.
- On Minecraft 26.3, fixed a resource-reload sky-renderer crash and gave shader compilation its own worker so busy chunk generation cannot hold up startup or reload. These two renderer failure paths do not exist in 26.1/26.2.
The transition may still show height differences around cliffs, trees and thin structures. Atlas uploads and cache copies can still cause occasional long frames.
Atlas caches rebuild after this update, so the distant ring may take time to reappear. Update the server and its clients together.
