Combat
- New parry system: Kaiju now telegraph their blows. Their glow flares, a glint flashes and a "PARRY" prompt closes in on your crosshair. Tap brace (C) in time to parry: the Kaiju reels and your punches hit much harder for a few seconds. Hold brace to block.
- Brace covers your front only: a Kaiju that gets behind you hits for full damage. A red "BEHIND YOU!" warning shows when one is about to.
- Ground Slam reworked: it hits much harder and knocks nearby Kaiju off balance.
- Roars, acid, spines and EMPs can't be parried, only blocked.

Smarter Kaiju
- Kaiju no longer just walk straight at you. They circle between flurries, flank, keep their distance or hold their ground, depending on the species.
- In a Double Event, two Kaiju come at you from opposite sides.
- A badly wounded Kaiju may fall back into the sea to heal, then come back at you. Watch the water.
