Retro Reactors

This mod adds the Dimensional Reactor, a new block that uses mysterious energy to punch a hole through space and time to bring slices of other dimensions to your world! The Dimensional Reactor provides the perfect way to gain access to mobs and resources you may not otherwise have access to.

Using Reactors

The first step is to acquire a Dimensional Reactor. You can craft it using the following recipe, but some mods may have other ways to get one.

The next step is to build the reactor multiblock. This is done by combining 4 catalyst blocks with 14 casing blocks. The catalyst blocks go in the bottom four corners. The casing blocks go in a plus shape on the bottom layer, the four corners on the second layer, and a plus shape again for the third layer. The core goes in the center of the multiblock structure. Below is an example of a reactor structure. Different block combinations can be used to make different types of reactors.

This mod currently includes five different reactor structures you can build. More can be added by datapacks and other mods!

• Gold / Cobblestone = Nether Wastes
• Gold / Red Mushroom Block = Crimson Forest
• Gold / Brown Mushroom Block = Warped Forest
• Lapis / Sandstone = Soul Sand Valley
• Iron / Deepslate = Basalt Deltas

To start the reaction, right click the reactor core in the center of the multiblock structure. If everything is correct, you should see particles start to slowly be sucked into the core. After a few seconds the reactor will get unstable and start spawning small explosion particles. Then the reactor will go critical and the dimension tower will be generated. Note that the core, catalyst, and casing will be destroyed by this process! If you change your mind, right click the core a second time to disable the reaction before the effect completes!

If the multiblock structure is incorrect or built in the wrong place you may get an alert.

• The reactor structure is missing or incorrect - This means the casing/core blocks do not match with any known reactor type. This can be caused by having the blocks in the wrong places, or using the wrong ones. Double check to make sure it's all right.
• Nearby blocks are interfering witht he reactor and must be removed - This means that at least one block is in the way of the tower and is preventing it from generating. You should see a particle effect on the block for a few seconds after to help narrow things down.
• Reactors can not generate above the build limit - The reactor is too high and needs to be rebuilt lower in the world. This is because the tower structure would be cut off by the height limit of your world.
• The reactor can not generate below the world. - The reactor is too low and would generate below the world height. You need to raise the structure up a bit.
• The reactor is too close to a world border - The reactor tries to avoid generating outside the world border. You need to move it further away.

Nether Wastes Reactor

The nether wastes reactor is made by using gold blocks for the catalysts and regular cobblestone for the casing. This reactor gives you access to quartz, glowstone, netherrack, nether gold, and small amounts of soulsand, ancient debris, and other nether content. The reaction will also spawn several zombie pigmen, but watch out they will be aggressive!

Warped Forest Reactor

The warped forest reactor is made by using gold blocks for the catalyst and full brown mushroom blocks for the casing. This reactor gives you access to warped nylium, warped fungus, striders, and enderman. The reactor will always spawn at least one enderman holding ancient debris.

Crimson Forest

The crimson forest reactor is made by using gold blocks for the catalyst and full red mushroom blocks for the casing. This reactor gives you access to crimson fungus, crimson nylium, shroom lights, and other blocks from this biome. It also gives you access to piglins and hoglins that are immune to zombification in the overworld!

Soul Sand Valey

The soul sand valey reactor is made by using lapis lazuli blocks as the catalyst and sandstone as the casing. This reactor gives you access to soul sand, soul soil, striders, and ghasts! The structure always spawns at least one ghast.

Basalt Deltas

The basalt deltas reactor is made by using iron blocks as the catalyst and deepslate as the casing. This reactor gives you access to basalt, blackstone, and magma cubes and magma cream!
