Resource Derivator

Resource Derivator is a NeoForge utility mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that creates a new local resource pack from selected files and directories inside another resource-pack ZIP.

Source packs can be loaded from local paths or downloaded from HTTP(S) URLs. Remote files are cached, and generated packs are created during startup. Download failures, timeouts, invalid configurations, and missing resources are reported without preventing the game from loading.

Resource Derivator is primarily intended for modpack authors who need only part of a resource pack but cannot redistribute the original pack or a modified copy. Instead of bundling those assets, a modpack can provide configuration that obtains the authorized source and creates the required derivative pack locally.

This workflow does not grant permission to use or modify third-party content. Always review the source pack's license, use an authorized download location, provide required attribution, and obtain permission where necessary.
