Description
Lend your gear without losing it. Put a Rental Case in your base, list the tools you're willing to rent out, set a price in ores, and let other players borrow them for an hour or a week. When time runs out, the item comes back to you on its own, wherever they left it.
How it works
1. Craft a Rental Case and place it. It's two blocks tall, and it takes the look of the planks and slab you craft it from.
2. List an item. Drop it in the Item box, pick a price from the ore dropdown, choose how long a rental lasts, and hit List.
3. Players rent it. Anyone who opens your case sees what's on offer and can rent it if they can pay. Payments wait in your case until you take them.
4. It comes back. When the rental ends, the renter's copy disappears from their inventory, ender chest, chests, shulker boxes, or the ground, and the item is up for rent again.
Your case shows off what you have for rent: each available item spins in its window in turn, switching every 30 seconds.
Features
- A two-block display case that matches the wood and stone you craft it from, including modded ones
- Prices in coal, copper, iron, gold, lapis, redstone, emerald, diamond or netherite
- Rentals from 1 hour to 7 days, up to 12 listings per player
- Your shop belongs to you, not the block. Every case you own shows the same listings, so a broken or stolen case loses nothing.
- Only the owner can break a case. Explosions, pistons and the Wither can't move it either.
- You can't lose your item. Your shop keeps the real one the whole time; renters only ever hold a copy that expires.
- Renters can't relist, and dropped or hidden copies still vanish on time
Recipe

The recipe unlocks as soon as you pick up a gold ingot or a chest.
For modpack makers
Add your own currencies with the `rentalcases:currencies` item tag in a datapack:
data/rentalcases/tags/item/currencies.json
{ "replace": false, "values": ["mymod:silver_ingot"] }
Good to know
- Install it on both the server and every client.
- Fabric needs Fabric API.
- Rental times run on real-world time, so a rental keeps counting down while you're logged off.
