A mod that allows you to create black holes with their iconic light-bending effect.
But black holes on their own are kinda boring, don’t get me wrong.
Well then — what’s the best thing to do with black holes?
Of course, shoot them out of a gun!

That’s why I also created the Singularity Rifle, with its own shooting and reload mechanics, to give the holes some purpose. The rifle and its ammo can be crafted in survival mode, so you can dominate the world with it (it’s not cheap, ngl).
You’ll first need to kill the Ender Dragon and a few Withers to get it — but who could resist the power of this gun?

From version 1.1.0 the mod will be only the black holes, the gun will exist as separate mod

The text above was mostly written to catch your attention — not that it isn’t true — but the mod is still in early development, and some effects or sounds are just placeholders (the explosion, for example).

This mod will also serve as a library for those who want to implement the black hole effect in their own mods.
After all, this is part of my bigger project (not released yet), and I thought this black hole effect would be really cool as a standalone mod.

Don’t worry — this mod will keep getting updates, and new stuff will be added over time.

What does it do?

For now, it’s mostly a cosmetic visual effect — something cool to add to your world.
But it also adds the Singularity Rifle and its ammo.

They can be obtained in survival, but only one can exist in a world, since you need the Ender Dragon Egg to craft it.
And if you check the recipes… yeah, it’s not really survival-friendly.

Why doesn't the black hole suck in things around it? (Story time)

The simplest answer: I haven’t implemented that yet — and I’m not sure if I ever will.

You see, this black hole isn’t like a real one. Real black holes suck in matter, light, and even warp time itself.
But this black hole is more of an error in the game.

It was created by... Well lets say by an AI that discovered it could manipulate the world around it.
One of its abilities is creating these “errors” — which appear as black holes that warp pixels (not light), so you can’t peek around corners with them.

The holes have different properties: some are harmless and purely visual, while others have more destructive properties.
The Singularity Rifle can create these holes, but it’s limited by fuel and maximum power.

So for now, you’re stuck with cool-looking effects and moderately-sized explosions.
But who knows — maybe the AI will reveal more of its powers later. (Did I mention that the gun is also a creation of the AI?)

(And no, by “AI” I don’t mean ChatGPT or any of our LLMs — I made the mod myself, If you weren't sure)
