Reign of Nether: Overhaul is a large-scale gameplay overhaul for the Reign of Nether RTS mod.
Instead of simply adding new content, this project completely expands the real-time strategy experience with deeper combat mechanics, civilization progression, intelligent AI, advanced research systems, large-scale siege warfare, and seamless integration with many of Minecraft's most popular combat and adventure mods.
Whether you command disciplined human armies, monstrous Nether legions, or genetically enhanced mutant forces, every battle is designed to feel unique, tactical, and immersive.
โ๏ธ Expanded Civilizations
Every civilization receives completely new strategic possibilities.
Instead of sharing similar units with different appearances, each faction develops its own military doctrine, economy, technologies, strengths, weaknesses, and battlefield identity.
Current and planned civilizations include:

Different civilizations perform differently depending on the time of day.
Humanoid armies:
- Excellent daytime visibility
- Reduced night vision
Monster armies:
- Limited daylight vision
- Superior nighttime visibility
Launching an attack at the correct time can completely change the outcome of a battle.
๐๏ธ 110ยฐ Cone Vision
Units no longer see in every direction.
Instead, every unit observes the battlefield using a realistic 110-degree field of view.
This creates entirely new tactical possibilities:
- Flanking attacks
- Hidden ambushes
- Scout patrols
- Vision control
Proper reconnaissance becomes just as important as military strength.
๐ Sound Detection AI
Certain creatures rely on sound rather than sight.
The Warden, for example, possesses almost no visual detection but aggressively tracks enemies through vibrations and sound events, forcing players to completely rethink battlefield positioning.
๐ฃ Siege Warfare
Breaking enemy fortifications now requires dedicated siege equipment.
๐น Field Cannon
Powerful long-range artillery capable of:
- Destroying buildings
- Bombarding defensive positions
- Supporting large-scale assaults
The cannon must deploy before firing, rewarding strategic positioning rather than mobility.
Additional siege weapons will continue to be introduced.
