About it:

Are you bored of Minecraft's same old combat? This mod adds the ability to stagger and parry, or get staggered or parried! All players and mobs have the ability to parry any form of damage. Whether it be from weapons, arrows, or even big falls (as long as time it right/you don't take fatal damage).

FEATURES:

STAGGER

Both player and mob has a low chance to stagger/be staggered.
When staggered, a sound cue will play as well as white particles will spawn to indicate that you have been staggered A different sound cue will play when heavily staggered.
Getting staggered makes you unable to hit/damage any entity. Be weary of how you approach battles now! (Though you can still parry while staggered).
In the chance, there is a 30% chance to be HEAVILY STAGGERED.

REGULAR STAGGER

PARRY

Press parry (default: R, configurable) right as you are about to take damage to gain a burst of health and speed! As well as nullifying all stagger debuffs! Any source of damage will do. Also has an audio cue!
Parrying an attack will deal 5 hearts of damage and stagger all enemies in the area (to compensate for being attacked and staggered by large amounts of enemies). The mob stagger is guaranteed. This also goes for when a mob parries the player.
Parry window is about 10 ticks or half a second. Currently not configurable. Might add idk.
Mobs can parry you as well! Modded mobs included.
Mistiming the parry gives you a slowness and weakness debuff for half a second, same as being staggered though not as severe. Also has an audio cue!
