What's new

26.1.2-v2.2.0

Polished many existing features and updated existing ones to keep up with changes in Minecraft.

General Changes

  • New spawn egg textures
  • Baby mobs have new textures and models
  • The quiver inserts and extracts items using the same controls as a bundle for better parity
  • Better armor trim compatibility

Red Dragon

  • Added config options to change how the dragon is controlled.
    • Mouse: Old movement (default), similar to how horses are controlled
    • Keys: The dragon's direction is controlled by pressing left and right, separate from your looking direction. This may be easier for using projectile weapons while riding the dragon.
  • Right clicking the Red Dragon to dismount may be disabled if a keybind is preferred.
  • The Red Dragon has a menu to determine how it behaves. You may choose from sitting, wandering, or following.

Giant

  • Giants have been rebalanced and made into a more proper feature
  • New attack: Ground Slam. The Giant will leap into the air and emit a shockwave when it crashes back down. Jumping can allow you to avoid the shockwave.
  • Now drops Giant's Eye: used to brew potions of the Giant's Blessing and the Giant's Curse and duplicate slime balls
    • The Giant's Blessing increases your size and adjusts a number of other attributes to better accommodate your new stature.
    • The Giant's Curse is the inverse, and shrinks you down to half your normal size.

Skylands

  • Added hostile mob spawns to the Skylands: Spiders, skeletons, creepers, and breeze (less common)
    • Bogged and Stray respectively spawn in the Rainforest and Cold Skylands biomes
  • Giants have been made less common
  • Falling out of the Skylands has a smoother transition into the Overworld, as does flying to it on a Red Dragon.
  • Updated the cloud visuals to match vanilla cloud shapes.
  • Added support for surface rules and world carvers for datapackers to use.

Skylands Portal

  • Increased the maximum interior size of portals to 21x21 blocks, matching the Nether Portal. This will allow much larger entities to pass through it will far less effort.

Tables

  • Placing a crafting table on a table allows the table to function as a crafting table
  • Crafting recipe and texture includes stripped wood
  • Made many changes to how items are displayed on a table
    • Flat items lay flat on the table
    • Block items will display their block on the table larger than before
    • Exceptions exist for the following:
      • Potions, buckets, bowls, and other fluid containing items stand upright
      • Spyglass and Trident items display their held model
      • Shields are propped up on the table to present their face
      • Armor is layed out on the table, with helmets having a stand for better presentation
      • Written books can be displayed as open books like they would on a lectern
      • Cake, lanterns, candles, and sea pickles display as a block instead of using their item model for better decoration options
      • Chairs are placed upside down
      • Plants that can go in a flower pot display their potted plant variant
    • Items displayed on a table can be configured through a resource pack. mod_id refers to the mod that owns the item, item_id refers to the ID of the item without the mod name.
      • File name for an item: assets/mod_id/rediscovered/table_display_offset/item_id.json

      • File name for an item tag: assets/mod_id/rediscovered/table_display_offset/tag/tag_id.json

      • Example: minecraft:dragon_head -> assets/minecraft/rediscovered/table_display_offset/dragon_head.json

  • Fixed floating point issues with sitting in chairs at high coordinate values
