RecursiveFactory

This project added factories in Minecraft that can be interconnected recursively, significantly reducing the size of the factories.

Recursive Factory

Put the entire factory into a single block.

Build a factory in the entrance block, expand outward and upward, and then embed another factory inside the current one. Items, fluids, redstone, and rotational power can pass through the walls and be connected directly. The entrance frame will also display a 1:16 scale preview of the room in real time.

Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.249+ · Create 6.0.10+ · Java 21

Requires mechanical power (Create). Both the client and server must install this mod and Create.

Features

  • Pocket Factory: One entrance corresponds to a 16×16×16 enclosed room. Each cell has a net space of 14×14×13.
  • Three-dimensional Expansion: Place another entrance beside the entrance, and the rooms will automatically merge.
  • Factory Nesting: Place another entrance inside the factory, enter the next layer of the factory; leave by returning layer by layer.
  • Wall-Passing Connection: Each entrance corresponds to the wall in the same direction of the room. Items, fluids, redstone, and stress can be directly connected.
  • Real-time Preview: The entrance frame displays the room content at a 1:16 scale, including entities and supported machines.
  • Copy and Print: Save the factory using the mechanical power blueprint, and then build it layer by layer using the blueprint cannon. Nested rooms will also be replicated together.
  • Remote Display: Bind the one-way preview block to the entrance, and repeat the same preview at other locations.

Quick Start

  1. Install NeoForge 21.1.249+, Mechanical Power 6.0.10+, and this mod. Both the client and server must have them installed.

  2. Synthesize the entrance on the workbench: Place the same color concrete at the four corners, obsidian at the four sides, and an End Crystal in the center.

  3. Drop the entrance, right-click with an empty hand to enter and start building the machine.

  4. Right-click any factory barrier to leave and return to the previous position.

  5. Place an entrance next to the entrance to expand the room; place an entrance inside the room to create a nested factory.

Connecting Machines

Each face of the entrance corresponds to the wall in the same direction of the room. For example, entering from the north side of the entrance, items will enter from the north wall of the room.

  • Items / Fluids: Connect the external side with funnels, slides, pipes, or pumps, and the internal side with the receiving container close to the corresponding wall; transmission is possible in both directions.
  • Rotary Power: Connect the external side with the entrance face, and the internal side with the shaft or machine against the corresponding barrier wall.
  • Redstone: Right-click with a mechanical power wrench without teleportation or with an empty hand and teleportation, switch the entrance side or the opening and closing of the corresponding inner wall barrier. Default is off, both ends must be open before bidirectional transmission, and it can be closed once more. No redstone powder or wrench durability is consumed.
  • Electricity (optional): Install Create: Electro Energetics, place connectors at the entrance and the corresponding inner wall, and connect to the generated surface nodes. Each side supports one node externally, and the blocks can be removed with a wrench.

Blueprint Duplication

Survival Mode: Use the mechanical power's blueprint and pen to select the factory entrance and save the blueprint. Deploy it into the blueprint cannon, provide gunpowder and adjacent material containers. The factory will also print each block inside, with animation showing materials being launched to the entrance block position.

Creative Mode: Aim at the entrance and place the obtained blocks to duplicate. Each placement will read the latest content of the source factory, including connected entrances and nested factories, and expand them; the copy runs independently.

The copy will retain the floor, floor holes, and switch states of redstone connections, and the cannon restores connection settings without consuming redstone powder. The blueprint can capture up to 8 layers of nesting, and will refuse to copy if there is a circular reference. With CEE installed, internal nodes and cables will also be saved; the cables connected to the room outside are not included.

One-way Preview Block

Hold the one-way preview block and right-click the entrance to complete the binding, then place it at the desired viewing position. The miniature model is displayed above a thin base, only for display purposes.

Compatibility and Configuration

Project Requirements
Minecraft 1.21.1
NeoForge 21.1.249+
Create 6.0.10+ (Required)
Java 21
Create: Electro Energetics 1.1.1+ (Optional, only for power transmission)
Sable / Simulated Optional compatibility, supported physical structures and ropes can be displayed in the preview

It allows separate switching of stress, fluid, and item transmission. In multiplayer games, the settings are based on the server settings.

When loading Create:EnderTransmission, stress, fluid, and item transmission are defaultly all turned off; saved settings take precedence, and they can also be manually turned on separately.

When loading the entry block, the internal rooms remain operational. When players are in nested factories, the entry chains will remain loaded layer by layer; when someone nearby is watching the remote preview, the source rooms will also remain operational.

Notes

  • This mod must be paired with Create, and cannot run alone.
  • Package Logistics with mechanical power is not supported.
  • Redstone connections are defaultly turned off; they need to be separately enabled on the entry side and the barrier side.
  • The outer shell of a single room grid is 16×16×16, and the free space is 14×14×13.
