Description
Reality Fracture: Beyond the Laws
The world still looks familiar. Its laws no longer are.
Reality Fracture is an exploration and research mod about anomalies that change the physics of Minecraft. Follow a scanner signal, measure an unusual field, test its behavior, and build a personal record of discoveries.
Your journal reveals hints as you investigate. Progress comes from observation, experiments, and restoring the archives of abandoned field stations.
Spatial Distortion — Alpha 3
Discover five laws of gravity
- Low Gravity: higher jumps and slower falls.
- High Gravity: stronger downward attraction and lower jumps.
- Gravitational Current: a directional horizontal force.
- Gravitational Sphere: attraction toward a center. Hold your Sneak key to slowly resist the pull and move outward; walls still block your escape.
- Gravity Inversion: upward attraction while the camera stays upright.
Unstable fields vary in strength over time. Measure and analyze a field, then use a Stabilization Module to temporarily suppress its fluctuations. Fields affect supported living creatures and dropped items. Ordinary gravity returns outside them, so plan your landing.
The attraction sphere's exact center is marked by a small luminous core and two orbit rings. Blue glyphs converge on it; brightness follows current intensity. The core remains visible with particles disabled, with its own client toggle.
Investigate temporary spatial passages
Find paired passages appearing naturally in loaded Overworld terrain. Scan and analyze a route to record its destination, orientation, and exit conditions. Nearby readings show the remaining lifetime; a personally analyzed route also shows its destination and current exit status.
Spatial Crystals can extend an active passage. After the required research, the Stabilization Module can temporarily anchor its arrival points for a more predictable crossing. Exits are checked before travel; an obstructed anchored landing cancels the crossing. Passage lifetime and anchoring have separate limits.
These are short routes within the Overworld. They do not lead to a new dimension.
Restore abandoned research stations
Explore newly generated terrain for field stations containing a finite crystal specimen and an archive console. Use an iron pickaxe or better to collect spatial crystals. Restore the archive through three research puzzles:
- Calibrate four channels from the available measurements.
- Connect a circuit through its ordered checkpoints.
- Align coupled phase rings.
Each puzzle includes rules and optional hints. There is no reaction timer, and completed stages remain saved. Archive progress and discoveries belong to each player; the station's crystal specimen is a shared, finite resource.
Build your field equipment
- Anomaly Scanner: locate and measure fields and spatial routes.
- Spectral Analyzer: investigate measurements and compare their properties.
- Researcher's Journal: track 23 discoveries, recorded fields, routes, diagrams, and experiment history.
- Stabilization Module: temporarily stabilize studied fields and, after further research, anchor studied passages.
The scanner, analyzer, and journal have custom 3D models. The module uses its own item sprite. Anomalies and passages use original particle textures. The book is currently static.
Getting started
Craft a scanner and journal, then explore for a signal. Scan within 12 blocks of a field boundary to record it. Read the journal's hints and return with an analyzer. Research leads toward stabilization experiments, station archives, and spatial travel.
Basic equipment has Survival crafting recipes. Optional Just Enough Items (JEI) support explains the scanner, journal, and analyzer without revealing hidden discoveries or archive solutions. JEI is not required.
Requirements
- Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.262 or a compatible newer 21.1.x build
- Java 21
- Matching Reality Fracture versions on the client and server
Includes English and Russian localization. Generation, forces, processing limits, particles, and passage readings are configurable. No external shaders are required.
