Realistic Gem Tools

*CURRENTLY ONLY CONTAINS SAPPHIRE AND RUBY ITEMS*

There have been many gem mods in the past.
But there are currently (to my knowledge), no gem mods that are currently updated for Minecraft 1.7.10, that are realistic in their relative stats and functions. I wanted one in my realistic survival build so I decided to make one.

All stats are based upon Gemstone Hardness on the Mohs scale, and their specific gravity(weight) relative to diamond.

Hardness IRL equals durability(uses).

Weight IRL equals attack damage and inverse speed (heavier gems do more damage but are slower)

The decorative blocks of the gemstones that are pretty much clear in real life allow light to pass through.

The Enchantability of the Tools and swords are based upon cultural/historical significance, enchantments aren't very realistic to begin with, so it was impossible to base it upon physical gemstone properties. Gems can be rarely found in vanilla chests roughly based upon their historical significance as well (IE, several gems found in pyramid chests, topaz in blacksmith chests, ect)

What this mod ads:

SAPPHIRE

sapphire is the second highest gemstone on Mohs scale after diamond, though it is slightly heavier.

Sapphire Ore (spawns in the overworld, underground obviously)

Sapphire Gem (mined or smelted from the ore)

Sapphire Block (blast resistant)

Sapphire Glass (unpolished and polished, the later being almost completely-clear glass that is as blast resistant as obsidian, this exists in real life look it up)

RUBY

ruby is a variant of sapphire and is the second hardest gemstone on Mohs scale after diamond, though it is heavier.

ruby is rarer and more expensive than sapphire.

Ruby Ore (spawns in the overworld, rarer than sapphire and a little deeper)

Ruby Gem (mined or smelted from the ore)

Ruby Block (Blast Resistant)

The stat tables compared to real life physical properties will be added after all gems and tools are added.

I will most likely never ad Armour for gems. That's unrealistic, it's bad enough that diamond has Armour. Imagine trying to make Armour out of gems like these in real life. You'd need very complicated machines and a lot of gems, if you want that then get someone to make a proper ad-on for one of the big tech mods.

COMPATIBILITY:

Should be compatible with anything that doesn't add anything named similar to the items listed (currently sapphire and ruby items).

You can do pretty much whatever you want with this mod as long as you don't claim it to be your own, leave the name "HendrikHermann" attached to it.
