Real Time Days

A Minecraft day lasts twenty four real hours and follows your computer's clock. When it is dark outside your window, it is dark in the game. Comes with an alarm clock.

What's new

The alarm clock is now a block you place, styled after a bedside clock radio.

The time is drawn on the front in red digits, with the colon blinking on the second, and it reads the world clock rather than your own computer, so it agrees with the sky outside. The block faces whichever way you were standing when you put it down, and it gives off a little light the way a real one does.

Setting it is one button: right click walks the alarm forward half an hour at a time, round the clock and then off again, and the setting appears above your hotbar. A dot on the display says it is armed. Crouch and right click reads the time out instead. The command /realtime alarm 7 30 sets the clock you are looking at, to the minute.

When it goes off it is loud, it carries a long way, the display flashes, and it keeps going until somebody walks over and right clicks it. That is the whole point of an alarm clock. It gives up on its own after five real minutes if nobody comes.

The alarm now belongs to the clock rather than to the player, which is what an alarm clock is: two of them in two houses do different things, and it wakes whoever is nearby.

Holding one still shows the time at the top of the screen.
