Re-Downed

Dying in Minecraft is sudden and often frustrating. With Re-Downed you get knocked down instead of dying, and your friends have 40 seconds to get you back on your feet.
You can revive your pets too!

What happens when you go down:

Hit 0 health and you go down instead of dying. (A Totem of Undying still saves you like normal, and `/kill` and the void still kill you :<)

While you're downed:

• your max health is cut in half (10 hearts becomes 5)
• armor stops protecting you
• you get the Warden's darkness effect and you glow, so others can find you
• you can only crawl, slowly, and you can't jump (*you can still swim up in water*)
• you can't attack, mine, place blocks, or use, drop or swap items
• a timer counts down on your XP bar, and players around you can see it above your head

Hold G (by deffault) to make the timer run 4 times faster. When it runs out there's a 20% chance you get back up on your own! If not, you bleed out.

The heart limit:

Your lowered max health stays after you get up, and every time you go down it's halved again, all the way down to 1 heart. At that point your hearts turn hardcore and you get a warning: "You can't take much more than this". The next hit that would kill you really does.

Getting your hearts back:

• reviving with a Bandage adds 2 hearts to the limit
• eating a Golden Apple adds 2 hearts to the limit

• eating an Enchanted Golden Apple (as a revive or eaten) removes the limit completely
• dying for real also resets it

How to help other players

1. Crouch next to them for 6 seconds. This puts them back on their feet, but they keep their lowered heart limit.
2. Bandage them by holding right-click on them for 3 seconds. This adds 2 hearts to their limit and heals them to full.
3. Use an Enchanted Golden Apple on them by holding right-click for 3 seconds. This removes their heart limit completely and gives them the normal enchanted golden apple effects.

How to help your pets

Tamed pets get downed too. They lie on their side, can't move, and whimper every few seconds so you can find them. You have 40 seconds, and crouching doesn't work on pets, only items:

1. 1. Bandage them** by holding right-click on them. They get back up with half health.
   2. Use an Enchanted Golden Apple on them by holding right-click. They get full health plus the apple's buffs.

And if you go down, your tamed wolves stay by your side and attack mobs that come after you!

Crafting

2 wheat and 2 dried kelp placed diagonally in the crafting grid make 2 bandages. They stack to 64.

Config

The timer length, the chance to get up alone and the revive times can all be changed, and most features can be turned off. Everything is in [config/re-downed.json], or in game with Mod Menu. On servers the server's config is used.
