Roots is an RPG-focused race and origins framework built for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1. The mod introduces a unique progression and customization system that allows players to choose from distinct, mechanically diverse races, each coming with its own set of dynamic passive abilities, structural advantages, and environmental vulnerabilities.
Native Included Races:

Human: A versatile, well-balanced choice. Lacking any innate weaknesses, humans feature a unique passive that multiplies and boosts all incoming experience points by +10%.

Zombie: Designed for raw physical power. Monsters of this race possess massive innate attack damage modifiers and constant health regeneration at the absolute cost of perpetual starvation and spontaneous combustion under direct sunlight.

Skeleton: An agile, ranged combatant that starts the game with archery equipment and a +15% movement speed advantage. However, their fragile nature severely caps their maximum health to just 6 hearts, and they share a deadly weakness to daylight.
Fully Custom For Modpacks
Beyond its native selections, Roots features a highly optimized dynamic loading system built specifically for modpack creators. You can completely bypass editing Java code to design, tweak, and implement entirely custom races, unique baseline stats, and complex environmental traits using simple external JSON configuration files.
