0.3.0
This release changes progression balance. Existing worlds are affected — see "Fixed" below before updating a live server.
Fixed
- Special fusion recipes could produce a Tier 5 boss from a single fusion of two cheap monsters, bypassing the boss heart / Tier 4 parents / maturity requirements entirely. For example Blaze + Iron Golem produced the Gauntlet. Two changes: a special recipe whose result is a boss now only applies for players who have defeated that boss, and the six affected recipes now require two generations (four monsters). Recipes that reach Tier 5 from only two parents are now reported at load time.
- Mutant Enderman was declared Tier 5, reachable from Enderman + Endermite. Tier 5 is reserved for bosses and satisfies the catalyst's "Tier 4 parents" requirement, so two cheap monsters produced a valid boss-fusion parent. It is now Tier 4, matching the other mutants.
- Bestiary recipes were truncated with an ellipsis when long, so four-monster recipes could not be read. They now wrap, and identical ingredients are grouped ("Zombie x2 + Villager x2").
- Maturity kept accumulating past its cap, displaying values like "138/100". It is now clamped at 100.
- Removed one bundled fusion recipe whose result does not exist in the current version of Mutant Monsters.
Changed
- The monster list now defaults to "favorites first, then obtained". The sort choice resets each time the screen opens, so this is what you see every time. The redundant "favorites first" sort option was removed.
- Creating a boss with a heart now also requires one Tier 4 parent at full maturity. Tier 4 is the end of the awakening path, so maturity had no use once you got there; it is now the price of a boss. Catalyst fusion consumes maturity, the same as awakening.
- Maturity gain is now scaled by the weaker parent's tier. Previously the overlevel bonus was measured against each tier's required level (10 for T1, 25 for T4), so low tiers gained more — and low-tier monsters also gain experience roughly three times faster. Farming T1 monsters was the fastest route to maturity, the opposite of the stated design. Carrying maturity to a higher tier now loses value in proportion to the tier gap. Reaching full maturity on a T4 takes 2 fusions directly, 6 via T1.
- API: FusionRecipes.findFor, FusionService.resolveSpecies / resolveTier / fuse take an optional set of defeated species.
