Description
This small mod makes minecraft leaves decay much faster. It should also be compatible with most modded leaves.
This mod is not required client side so clients don't need to have the mod installed if it's already on the server.
Config
In the config file you can change the decay speed & fuzz (How random the decay is). There is also an option to make all leaves decay faster, by default only leaves on trees broken by players decay faster.
Feel free to add this to any modpack you want.
Will you update this to 1.16 so it can work with Enhanced Mushrooms?
At what speed would it have to be set to in the config to match Vanilla, roughly? (Just an estimate, please) Working on my modpack and it'd help bunches, thanks. <3

What's exactly the point?
In reply to insane96mcp:
To go off that, then I could make it roughly 20% faster than Vanilla which is what I want. Knowing the Vanilla def. would help.
Has anyone been able to get modded leaves to be recognized by this mod?
I tried adding both the blocks and items to minecraft:leaves with CraftTweaker, but they stay untouched by Quick Leaf Decay.
Thanks for any help.
I think this mod might be more efficient than FastLeafDecay.
When running FastLeafDecay (on MC 1.12.2), I got a ton of cascading worldgen errors but also indications of lag... "Running 4152ms behind, skipping 83 tick(s)"
When running QuickLeafDecay (on MC 1.12.2), I get the same cascading worldgen errors but no indications of lag.
As a bonus, QuickLeafDecay is server side only. That's really nice.
Yes, I some mod in this pack is providing custom trees. FastLeafDecay is actually decaying the trees as I walk through chunks. QuickLeafDecay is leaving them as-is until I chop up some wood.
I'm going to hazard a guess that this mod has better algorithms.
Does this mod have any advantage over Fast Leaf Decay?
Does this mod have any advantage over Fast Leaf Decay?
Any plan on bringing this to 1.15?

WHY NOT 1.7.10

In reply to jonathanhenson2000:
Why would you play on that version?
In reply to MathRune:
A lot of mods are exclusive to that version and it's still one of the most played on curse.
The real question though: Why would anyone play modded on higher than 1.12.2
In reply to hrudyplayz:
Because 1.15 has much better optimization and a large library of mods.
In reply to KingArthur0975:
Huge library? Not by any means, there are some mods but most are still on 1.12.2.
Much better optimization: Than 1.13 and especially 1.14, yes, of course, vast improvements. Than 1.12.2, not really. Please also note there's way more optimization mods for 1.12.2: Phosphor, Optifine, Foamfix, VanillaFix to name just a few...
In reply to hrudyplayz:
bruh
Sort by version 1.15 on the mods tab there are exactly 128 pages full of 1.15 mods.
In reply to KingArthur0975:
Yep, now remove all the mcreator or other bad mods: Half of the pages, so 64 pages left.
And remove half of them aswell as you can't use all mods due to the separation of forge and fabric, 32 pages left.
Now compare it with 1.12.2 or 1.7.10, to be fair, you can remove 1/3 of those pages as MCreator did exist in those versions aswell but as they had time to mature and become modding golden-versions, there's more real mods instead of MCreator ones.
Like i said, way less mods than 1.7.10 or 1.12.2, even less exclusive mods, so there's no real reason to play 1.15 instead of 1.12.2 if you use backporting mods.
Also, even if you just took the raw pages number, 1.7.10 has 216 pages on Curse (though, at the time it was common to see mods on minecraft forums instead) and 1.12.2 has around 408 pages, so still way less mods than 1.15.
In reply to HRudyPlayZ:
bold of you to assume half of all mods on here are exclusive to fabric. most mods compatible with fabric have forge compatibility, and "bad mods" arent even close to half of all mods. pure mod counts are much closer than 32 pages, and assuming you dont take off mods from the 1.7 category, even though there are way more bad mods on there, and a good quarter of the mods are blatant worse copies, which is much less of a problem on later versions. they are relatively equal, and the great vanilla updates allow for much more modifications and make the game so much better. you just have a nostalgia boner.
1.15 mods are just in general better, and less lag due to needing 40 mods on 1.7 to do 2 1.15 mods job with a quarter of efficiency.
