What's new
Pureformance 0.3.5 — Entity Catastrophe
Pureformance 0.3.5 focuses on maintaining playability in extreme situations involving very large concentrations of moving entities, such as overloaded item farms and water-based transport systems.
New features
- Added the new Entity Catastrophe System for extreme entity-density scenarios.
- Added independent pressure detection for general entities and dropped items.
- Added progressive emergency levels with controlled activation and recovery.
- Added a dense-section collision index optimized for large numbers of moving dropped items.
- Added new telemetry for catastrophe levels, entity budgets, accepted and rejected entities, collision queries and avoided work.
Performance improvements
- Significantly reduces repeated collision-search work in areas containing hundreds or thousands of moving items.
- Prevents oversized asynchronous occlusion snapshots during catastrophic loads.
- Coordinates entity, particle and ambient-effect governors under severe frame or tick pressure.
- Improves frame pacing and client responsiveness in heavily overloaded farms.
- Retains normal entity visibility below genuine catastrophe conditions.
In the validated 600–949 entity range, Pureformance 0.3.5 improved average performance by approximately 48–52% compared with 0.3.4, while substantially reducing P95 frametime.
Gameplay and visual integrity
- Pureformance does not delete entities.
- Entity movement, pickup, merging, ageing and water transport continue to use normal Minecraft simulation.
- Player, projectile, vehicle, passenger, named, glowing and other critical entities are protected from catastrophe render limits.
- Ordinary farms below 5,000 nearby dropped items retain normal entity visibility.
- Fluid simulation, scheduled ticks, redstone, network processing and server-authoritative gameplay remain untouched.
- The previously rejected aggressive entity-visibility limits are not included.
Emergency recovery
The Entity Catastrophe System uses hysteresis and staged recovery to prevent rapid switching between performance levels. Normal rendering is restored progressively after the overload has remained below its recovery thresholds.
