Punchy! Expressions 1.0.3
Settings
- The Face tab has a Faces switch. Off, no face is drawn on anyone and every skin shows as it is.
- Hat layer is a switch for the skin you wear, in the Face tab and in the face editor's Marks tab. Off, your eyes are found and marked on the face layer alone, under any hair, hood or mask on the hat layer. An avatar that hides its Hat part is read the same way, yours or another player's.
- Glowing eyes: four switches make the whites, the pupils, the brows and the sparkles glow in the dark. They glow on every face within about 16 blocks, except an invisible player's. They are drawn as the game's emissive layer at full brightness, so shader packs that make entity eyes glow treat them the same way.
- Lid color picks the color your eyelids close in, for the skin you wear. Your skin's own color stays the default.
- Sparkle color, Line color of closed eyes and Lid color all have an eyedropper. In the color picker, From your skin shows your face, and a click on one of its texels picks that texel's color.
Skins
- The face reads HD skins, 128 to 1024 pixels wide, one texel for each block of pixels, and draws pupils and brows with the finer pixels of the skin, and the glints a skin paints too on skins up to 256 pixels wide.
- Eyes painted across both layers, such as a white on the face layer with the pupil painted on the hat layer over it, blink and glance as one eye: the lids close over the painted pupil, and the pupil moves when the eye looks around.
- A face shows on another player only when their skin carries marks (made with Export skin), when you marked that skin by hand on your computer, or when the eye finder is sure of its reading. Your own avatar gets the finder's best reading, sure or not. A guess can be wrong, and only your own face can be fixed in the editor, so guesses stay on your own avatar.
- The eye finder reads each skin with its hat layer over the face and over the face layer alone, and tells a reading it is sure of from a guess. When it misreads a face, mark the eyes by hand in the face editor's Marks tab. Press Export skin and upload the copy as your skin, and everyone who plays with Punchy! Moves sees the face you marked.
The face editor
- The new Colors tab holds the sparkle color, the line color of closed eyes and the lid color.
- The Marks tab has the Hat layer switch. Export skin saves an HD skin at its own size. On Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, a downloaded skin wider than 256 pixels cannot be exported.
- The Style tab has the Faces switch and the four Glowing eyes buttons.
face.json
config/punchy_moves/face.json has four new keys: faces, glow, lid_colors and hat_layers. The other keys are as
before. A value of the wrong kind in one key leaves that setting at its default and costs no other.
NOTES
IF YOU HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE INITIAL FACE DETECTION, PRESS RESET TO FOUND ON THE FACE GUI, IT SHOULD TRY TO FIND IT IN A BETTER WAY, HOWEVER SINCE THERE'S NO POSSIBLE WAY TO ACCOUNT FOR ALL THE DIFFERENT SKINS, THE BEST SETUP IS THE MANUAL SETUP!
