This mod was made to go along with Gregtech so you didnt have to use adventure mode but had an incentive to use the proper tools and watch where your swinging!
You take damage from punching anything there is a proper tool to harvest other than dirt, or by using the wrong tool.
Note: This mod uses the vanilla material System to define which type of damage should be applied, and there are a couple exclusive ones that don't cause damage. If the mod doesn't use the materials that don't hurt then its ment to hurt.
You are allowed to use this mod modpacks if you wish.
Mod Spotlight:
Im guessing you don't take damage from sand either like dirt so it be more realistic. Don't know about gravel and if that even hurts. Anyways, can someone list/give me the names of things you won't take damage from? Dirt... and what else? Would like to know!
I'm using a crude start mod with it but whenever i use the crude axe on a tree it damages me how to fix please

That means the "Crude Start" tools are not able to mine these blocks in the way that forge is actually suggesting to do it. (They mark the blocks as mineable in the "canMineFunction" but forge has a "toolType" system that automatically making everything compatible with each other that has the same tool type & level. Thats a bug in "Crude Start" not PunchMeNot)
In reply to bear989sr:
The problem is CrudeStart is written with mcreator and the dev setup the harvest level of the axe to 0 (i think). I dont even know this is detectable by other mods.
In reply to tomstoasti:
Unfortunately, Crude Start does not work with any of the 'No Tree Punching' modes :/
I have a problem with configuring config file. I haven't got much clue how to properly edit it to make it work and whenever I try to play game after editing it, the file doesn't work and it resets to the state that it was before (the file is just the same as it was before editing). I've done it a couple times trying different word placement and the effect was every time the same as described.
In reply to WhiteNoizzTV:
Do you save the file before closing it? if not then you have to and check if your ids are correct
are there plans for 1.15? no rush, just asking. : )
Hello, I have some trouble adding snow layers to the whitelist. It might be due to me being a newbie to minecraft.
Great mod though :-) !
In reply to Forge_User_52001248:
try to place a block with the /setBlock command in the game and then look which block you spawn. That should help test out what you actually add to the list.
PLEASE support 1.14.4 Forge :(
is there anyway to fix the bug with crude start were the axe from that mod still makes you take dammage or can you add a way to whitelist tools that can break certain blocks
My whitelist worked just fine. I added sand, gravel and 2 moded blocks.
But there is still a problem, can I add moded tools? Because if I use the tools of the "crude start" mod Iam getting damage, too.
Is there a way to fix this? (and sorry for my bad english)

I was able to fix a portion of this by adding the crude start tools as a white list in the config file. If you pull up the debug where it will display the item name and ID it will give you the information you need to white list. Although the axe still has the issue, you will have a little more life when collecting your wood.
crude_start:branch
crude_start:rock
Then you should be good to go! This should work for other mods if you are having issues with them. However, as it has been stated this is not an issue with Punch Me Not. Hope this helps out!
In reply to Forge_User_90097034:
how can i find the whitelist?
In reply to Forge_User_98250647:
In the config folder
I posted an issue about cactus go see it
it's a bug
Edit: also where can I whitelist something? I know there is a whitelist but I don't know where to find it or where to put this thing..
S:whitelist <
minecraft:dirt,
minecraft:stone,

other than that it's a great mod thanks for making it
In reply to yasser22224:
Not a bug "PunchMeNot" is about teaching players to use the right tools.
