Chainsaw Man - Public Safety: Fear & Contracts is a Chainsaw Man-inspired survival mod that brings Devils, contracts, Fiends, Hybrids, Public Safety, and all the consequences that usually come with making terrible decisions around supernatural creatures into Minecraft.

Minecraft is still Minecraft. You mine, build, explore, fight mobs, raid structures, get lost underground, spend forty minutes fixing a storage room nobody else will ever see, and generally continue your little block life as usual.

The difference is that Devils exist now.

Some can be avoided. Some can be hunted. Some can be reasoned with. Others have already decided what they think about you, which saves everyone a lot of time.

Devils are born from fear and vary wildly in strength, behavior, abilities, and temperament. Fighting them may lead to new opportunities, attract the attention of Public Safety, unlock progression, or simply leave you wondering why you thought attacking the horrible thing with teeth was going to end well.

Your actions matter. Devils and Devil Hunters can remember violence, witnesses can spread information, hostility can persist, and Public Safety may eventually become interested in whatever suspicious pattern seems to follow you around.

Apparently institutions become concerned when their employees keep disappearing near the same person. Bureaucracy remains undefeated.

Devil Contracts

Some Devils can be negotiated with, but they are not vending machines with dialogue boxes.

Each one has its own interests, conditions, preferences, and reasons for accepting or rejecting someone. What you have done, what you possess, what you have experienced, or what you are willing to sacrifice may all matter.

They may want something from you. They may consider you useful. They may think you are interesting.

They may also think you are an idiot.

Contracts can grant powerful abilities, but power comes with a price, and the Devil is usually the one deciding what counts as fair.

Fiends, Hybrids and Devils

You do not have to remain human.

Fiends, Hybrids, and Devils are all part of the mod's progression, each with their own mechanics, strengths, limitations, and ways of surviving.

Hybrid paths include transformations inspired by Chainsaw Man, Bomb, Katana Man, Crossbow, Flamethrower, and others. They can regenerate, transform, use unique abilities, and survive things that would turn an ordinary human into environmental decoration.

This tends to have a negative effect on common sense.

Public Safety

Public Safety exists throughout the world through Devil Hunters, encounters, structures, events, and progression tied to your actions.

Hunters may fight Devils, respond to threats, interact with the player, remember hostile behavior, and share information about dangerous individuals. Your relationship with Public Safety develops naturally from what happens in the world instead of being reduced to a morality meter quietly judging you from a menu.

You can work with them.

You can stay out of their way.

You can also make yourself their problem.

The third option is surprisingly popular.

Built around Minecraft

There is no mandatory questline dragging you through the mod.

You begin by playing Minecraft.

Explore. Survive. Fight Devils. Find strange structures. Pay attention to unusual encounters. Follow rumors, investigate things that probably should have been left alone, and gradually discover what the world contains.

Some systems can be deliberately pursued. Others appear naturally while you are doing something completely unrelated.

Sometimes you find the mod.

Sometimes the mod finds you.

That second one usually has more health.

Q: How do I start?
Play Minecraft normally. Explore, survive, fight Devils, investigate unusual structures, and pay attention to what happens around you. The mod is built around discovery rather than handing you a glowing checklist immediately after spawning.

Q: Is there a questline?
No mandatory questline. Progression comes from exploration, combat, encounters, contracts, discoveries, and your own actions. You decide what to pursue. Occasionally something decides to pursue you instead.

Q: Can I become Chainsaw Man or another Hybrid?
Yes. Chainsaw Man is one of several Hybrid paths, alongside Bomb, Katana Man, Crossbow, Flamethrower, and others.

Q: Can I become a Fiend or Devil?
Yes. Fiends and Devils also have their own progression and mechanics.

Q: Can I make contracts with Devils?
Yes. Different Devils care about different things and may judge you based on your history, experiences, possessions, actions, or sacrifices. They will usually give some indication of what interests them, but they are Devils, not customer support.

Q: Is this a power fantasy mod?
You can become very powerful. Unfortunately, the world contains things that make your newfound confidence look premature.

Power usually comes with requirements, limitations, costs, or consequences.

Q: Does this replace vanilla Minecraft?
No. Minecraft survival remains the foundation. The mod adds Devils, hunters, contracts, transformations, structures, encounters, and new systems into the existing world instead of building a separate game on top of it.

Your dirt house remains perfectly viable.

Its life expectancy is a separate matter.
