What's new

### Every creature and soldier, remodelled after the games
- All of them are rebuilt as detailed blocky models that follow the Prototype games, so each one is easy to
tell at a glance: many more boxes than before (brows, teeth, talons, ribs, plates, pouches, guns with their
magazines and sights), curved claws, horns and spines made of jointed links, and textures painted at twice
Minecraft's usual detail, with patterns that run on across the body, shading in the creases and darker
  edges.
- **The strain:** the Hunter (pale and marbled across the back, raw red down the limbs, a lipless mouth of
teeth, hooked talons) and the bigger, red Leader Hunter; Prototype 2's Brawler (mauve-grey, spined, a gaping
fanged maw, bloody claws), with your own pack's veins burning orange; the Supreme Hunter (upright, a huge
black spiked right arm, ribs bared, half its face melted, a bone blade on the left); the Juggernaut (obese
and blue-grey, forearms of lava-cracked rock, a jaw that splits three ways); the Goliath (skinless muscle,
a skull for a face, its plated, clawed club now on its left arm, a hook on its right); the Hydra (a glossy red
plated tendril arching forward, toothed petal jaws); the infected birds (black and blood-streaked, skull
heads, pink under the wings); the Infected (now with a body of their own instead of the zombie's), the
Runner, the Slasher, the Brute, Elizabeth Greene and her giant form.
- **The military:** the Army soldier (steel helmet, gas mask with round blue lenses, steel plate carrier in
rust webbing, yellow armband), Blackwatch's trooper, operative and sniper (black armour over teal, helmet
lamp, glowing visor slit, goggles and cloak, the red Blackwatch flash), the Super Soldier (grey and white
plate, one blue eye, glowing joints, the wrist cannon), the Gentek scientist (lab coat, glasses, ID badge,
latex gloves) and Robert Cross (beret, scarred and stubbled face, earpiece). Guns are carried and aimed as
  before.
- **Things glow:** eyes, the Juggernaut's lava cracks, the pack Brawlers' veins, the soldiers' lenses, the
troopers' helmet lamps, the operative's visor, the sniper's laser sight and the Super Soldier's joints stay
  lit in the dark.
- **Animation:** the Juggernaut has new moves for its new body: both rock fists heaved overhead and hammered
down, a roar with arms flung wide before it charges, fists together in front of its head for the charge and
raised as a guard when it is struck from the front, and a slack-armed stagger when stunned. The big
creatures' arms (Hunters, Brawler, Supreme Hunter, Goliath, Juggernaut) now stay on their shoulders when the
body rears back or hunches forward. The Hydra spits from its jaws, at the top of its arch.

### Powers that look like Prototype, and stay out of your face
- **No more dirt and cobblestone.** Nothing throws chunks of the ground around any more: no blocks of dirt or
stone flung up by slams, quakes, spikes, bullets or the Goliath, no slabs heaved out of the ground. A blow to
the ground now cracks it (a scar of cracks that fades, glowing red for a moment after a biomass blow), snaps a
low ring of dust across it and kicks up a few soft billows; biomass blows (landings, the Elbow Drop, the
devastators, the pack, a Bio-Bomb) drive a ring of black spines up out of the earth as the shock passes.
- **Groundspikes** (Claws, Spike Field, Groundspike Barrage, Critical Pain) are no longer stacks of boxes: each is a
curved, barbed horn of black biomass with a bony tip, flaring out of the ground in raw red flesh, punching up
out of a glowing scar. The Spike Field grows taller ring by ring and leans outwards, and the first spikes of a
Groundspike line or Critical Pain are smaller, so they no longer wall off your view.
- **Tendril Barrage:** dozens of thin black tendrils spear out like an urchin's spines and are snatched back in a
blink, instead of a few dozen thick red ones. The devastators' tendrils, the Black Hole's, the whip and every
lash are now black sinew threaded with red veins.
- **Quake:** a ring of black spines rolls outwards through the ground with a low ridge of dust on its front.
- **Blade Shockwave:** a crisp crescent skimming the ground, leaving a glowing gash and a thin wake of dust,
instead of a tall arch that filled the screen.
- **Whirlwind:** a long, thin whip with a hooked blade on its end; its smear is a narrow arc at the blade.
- **Boulder Throw:** tendrils haul a spiked knot of hardened biomass up out of the ground (no longer a clump of
whatever you were standing on), and it bursts into biomass and spines where it lands.
- Spiked Armor and the Shield bristle with the same bone-tipped spines; the Black Hole's knot, eruptions and the
  boulder are smoother masses.
- **First person:** glows, dust and smears melt away as they come within a couple of blocks of the camera, solid
geometry right against the lens is left out, the Tendril Barrage only draws the tendrils spearing outwards and
down (the rest would pass right in front of your eyes), and the Whirlwind swings low from the waist.

### Fixed: disconnect when Robert Cross, a Brawler or a Juggernaut animated
- A "Packet handling error" kicked you out of the world when Robert Cross used his special attack, or a Brawler
(your own pack included) or a Juggernaut was stunned after charging into a wall: their animation messages used
a code Minecraft reserves for the sniffer, and the client crashed trying to treat them as one. They use free
codes now, and none of the mod's other codes clash with the ones Minecraft keeps for itself.
- An effect or a gunshot that fails to draw is now skipped (and noted in the log) instead of disconnecting you.
- Creatures brought in by the sites' spawners (and spawn eggs) no longer appear in vanilla's puff of particles.
