Promaid — a smarter Touhou Little Maid Promaid is an addon for Touhou Little Maid (TLM). Building on TLM's existing maid entity and task framework, it adds air-raid flight, vehicle driving, blueprint building, gathering and production, shift scheduling, tactical self-preservation, and AI memory and dialogue — so a maid behaves far more autonomously in combat, work and daily life.
One hard dependency: vanilla TLM. No other mod is required at compile time. Weapon handling is based on vanilla attack-damage attributes, so weapons from tacz, Superb Warfare, SlashBlade, Epic Fight and MaidSpell work as they are. Every feature can be switched on or off individually from the in-game config panel, and a 37-chapter guide book in game documents all of it.
Built with AI coding tools by a non-professional author. Development and testing focus on single-player; multiplayer servers are not optimised. Bug reports and suggestions are welcome on GitHub.
Combat Air raid. Give a maid an elytra, a weapon and firework rockets, switch her task to air raid, and she fights from the sky instead of chasing mobs on foot. A missing piece means she refuses to fly and tells you which one.
Melee air raid climbs above the target, folds her wings, dives, lands a hit before touching down, then pulls up and repeats. Ranged air raid holds station above the target and keeps firing. Ranged air raid needs matching ammo; gohei and tridents consume none. The dive uses a vanilla crit ×1.5 plus enchantments; on 1.21.1 a mace uses the vanilla mace smash bonus (wind burst included), with fall distance measured from the top of the current climb.
Targeting is a 50-block sphere around the maid, and once locked she keeps aiming. Maids and pets are never valid targets, and line of sight is required.
If the owner is more than 100 blocks away she is teleported straight back, mid-air. She accepts no other teleports, is not immune to real damage, places no blocks while gliding, and lands with water or powder snow. Fall-damage immunity is on by default.
Air-raid bombing — after her attack she drops a bomb made from what is in her backpack: an end crystal, a respawn anchor (needs a glowstone charge), a bed (only where vanilla beds actually explode) or thrown TNT. Every kind she has materials for fires in the same attack, each taking its own spot. Breaking blocks and hurting the owner or allies are both off by default, so terrain is untouched and nobody on your side is hurt or knocked back; the fire is pink, non-spreading and self-extinguishing.
Broom mode. Give a maid a broom plus any ranged weapon and set her task to Broom mode — she mounts the broom and fights from the air. Only the player can put her in this mode; she never switches to it on her own. She climbs above the target, then orbits and fires with the same logic as ranged air raid. The orbit radius eases randomly, with a minimum standoff and spacing between maids so several never line up on the same shot. As a rider she uses only her main-hand weapon: no spellcasting, no bombs.
Tridents serve three roles — a melee weapon, a throwable ranged weapon that needs no ammo, and a riptide spin attack available both on the ground and during the air-raid dive.
Vehicle driving. A maid can drive Superb Warfare tanks, APCs, helicopters, fixed-wings and airships: she takes the driver seat, writes her target into the weapon stations, and moves matching ammo from her backpack into the vehicle's magazine.
Helicopters hover and orbit, fixed-wings use their own loiter behaviour, and airships climb to engage; flying vehicles climb to a standoff altitude before dropping bombs. Vehicles whose controls are too demanding, or whose cockpit code accepts players only, are deliberately excluded, and the guide explains each case.
Ride baton (lead + stick) sends a maid onto an ordinary mount, a Superb Warfare vehicle or an Ice and Fire dragon, and has her follow you. Right-click the mount first, then right-click the maid. Right-click selects, binds or releases; left-click swaps driver and passenger seats; an empty-handed right-click on a vehicle she drives takes the free seat. One mount serves one maid.
Combat leash (lead + 2 iron ingots) clips you under a flying maid as her gunner: she flies and shoots, you hang below and shoot too. Works with broom mode and both air-raid modes. When she has no target, your look direction steers her. First person goes semi-transparent so she does not block your aim.
Patrol chart gives a broom-mode maid a closed patrol route, replacing the default circling of her work area. Hold the chart and right-click the ground to add waypoints; one chart holds up to 16 routes, and she returns automatically if she drifts off one.
Production and work Schedule table (paper + ink sac) coordinates every maid's day: day / night / all-day shifts, six slots each assigned a different task, the current slot highlighted, one-key recall and automatic home mode, plus roaming and idle strolling.
Building places a blueprint block by block, consuming real materials and pausing to name what is missing. Blueprints come from bundled authorised sets, dialogue generation, external files (.nbt, .snbt, .litematic, .schem, .json) or the AI designer. The site shows a golden outline and a cyan ghost projection (Z rotates 90°), with foreman mode and persistent progress that resumes from where it stopped.
Index stone (9 smooth stone in a 3×3) locks a point; binding it to a maid makes her fill every block from her feet to it. Materials come from her backpack first, then yours.
Mining selects targets by whitelist and value scoring, with chain mining, fall protection and an idle watchdog. Lumber recognises modded logs, replants saplings and uses bone meal.
Smelting feeds smeltable items into furnaces — one maid per furnace, blast furnaces and smokers supported. Brewing works in batch or targeted mode.
Farming uses chain harvest and bulk planting on marked farmland; slaughtering counts by species and never kills tamed pets.
Compression box (4 cherry planks, 4 diamonds, 1 pink dye) is a 5-slot container that acts as an extension of a maid's backpack — she draws materials from it and eats the food stored inside. Enchanted items, enchanted books and other compression boxes cannot go in.
Self-preservation and support
Self-preservation triggers below 30% health while under genuine threat, using healing tiers, pillaring up and fleeing. Small environmental damage such as cacti or light falls is handled softly, and fire is put out by teleporting to nearby water.
Death and revival — a soul talisman is recalled automatically on lethal damage, with a cooldown. If that fails, the grave expires and the maid revives at the owner's respawn point (or at the owner's position if the respawn point is unusable), with her backpack, accessories, tasks and model restored exactly as at the moment of death.
Owner immunity has three layers — a damage master switch, filtering at every attack injection point, and periodic aggro clearing — so a snowball fight stays a snowball fight.
Tactics and equipment — player-like strafing, jump-crits, kiting and shields; weapons are switched automatically by DPS, enchantments and durability, judged entirely on vanilla attributes with no weapon blacklist.
Passive skills — water and powder-snow landings, lava escape, owner-death teleport, bridging.
Close support — within 16 blocks a maid feeds you when you are hungry, heals you when you are low, clears debuffs, throws fire-resistance and water-breathing potions, shares shields and spends a totem of undying to save you. With Thirst Was Taken installed she also feeds you water. Maids support each other, and the owner's other pets and modded minions as well.
Bed interop — maids sleep in all 16 bed colours, and you can sleep in a maid's bed and set it as your respawn point.
Safety — chunks containing your maids stay loaded, pathfinding avoids lava, fire and cacti, and a maid trapped on the bedrock roof or falling out of the world is rescued automatically. AI (optional — bring your own endpoint)
Everything here can be switched off. Configure an OpenAI-compatible endpoint — model, URL and key, all in the in-game config.
Memory records important facts, relation triples, an owner profile and work notes, with daily, 3-day, weekly and monthly diaries consolidated automatically while she sleeps.
Proactive dialogue — she speaks up on her own, reacts when you are badly hurt or night falls, and decides what to do when idle. Proactive speech shares a daily quota (40 per day).
17 AI tools let you give instructions in natural language: "come here", "give me diamonds", "kill that mob", "remember I like black tea", "build a 5×5 modern cottage".
Perception and emotion — rule-based perception (enemies, your health, weather) driving a PAD emotion model.
Voice — a bundled offline Japanese voice pack, or plug in your own TTS.
Only AI features need internet. Leave the endpoint blank and they simply stay off; nothing else changes, and no request is sent anywhere.
Soft compatibility Because weapon handling follows vanilla attributes, any modded weapon with an attack-damage attribute takes part in auto-equipping, damage and auto-combat without extra work. The integrations below are all reflective and optional — if the other mod is absent, mismatched, or changes internally, the feature switches itself off without affecting startup or anything else.
Mod Integration [TaCZ] Timeless and Classics Zero Gun and ammo recognition, ammo-type matching, and firing guns during air raid and broom mode
[SBW] Superb Warfare Gun and ammo recognition; driving, turret aiming, magazine resupply and flight control for tanks, APCs, helicopters, fixed-wings and airships SlashBlade: Resharped Slash triggers under the air-raid task, and damage using SlashBlade's damage attribute
[Goety] Wind displacement focus used as aerial propulsion
[IaF] Ice and Fire Riding and flying dragons, both regular and community editions
[TWT] Thirst Was Taken Feeding the owner water, equivalent to drinking it yourself, with container return
[BD] Beyond Dimensions Depositing into and withdrawing from the owner's dimension network Touhou Little Maid: Spell Casting spells during air raid, and tightening the behaviour of its two spell combat tasks
[MG] Modular Golems Recognises the "puppeteer" task and blacklists it so automation never switches into it; a manual switch hands the tactical system over to keep that mod's original gameplay
[EF] Epic Fight Fixes the weapon contract of its maid combat tasks so modded weapons enter auto-equip and auto-combat
[YSM] Yes Steve Model Models coexist without client crashes Curios An elytra in an accessory slot can start air raid, using durability equivalently Installation Minecraft 1.20.1 + Forge 47.4.x, or 1.21.1 + NeoForge 21.1.250.
Install Touhou Little Maid — the build matching your loader. Drop this mod's jar into mods, also matching your loader. A Promaid guide book arrives in game — 37 chapters of step-by-step tutorial. Lost it? /give @p maid_smart:blueprint_book, or craft it from a book and paper. Delete any older Promaid jar first — the mod id is unchanged, and two jars at once will fail at startup. Existing saves upgrade seamlessly: items, tasks, blueprints, memory and schedules all use the maid_smart namespace.
Known notes Single-player focus — multiplayer servers are not optimised. Reports welcome. TLM tested on 1.5.3; other versions may not work. 1.20.1 vs 1.21.1 — 1.21.1 includes the mace content; everything else is aligned. Alongside "Yes Steve Model" — no crash, but the elytra and riptide render layers are skipped on YSM models, which have no Gecko bone table. Credits Touhou Little Maid and its author.
