Description

## Early Release Notice

I am putting Project Warfare and Project Warfare Core out as early releases so people can try them, see the direction they are heading in, and send feedback or content requests. They are already built with multiplayer and server compatibility in mind, but I still would not recommend building anything serious around them just yet. If you check them out, thank you for the interest.

## Project Warfare

Project Warfare is the content-heavy half of the lineup. It is my attempt at a broad modern combat overhaul for Forge 1.20.1 that goes well beyond being just a gun pack. The goal is an all-in-one configurable framework for combat-focused servers and curated modpacks, with most major systems exposed through dedicated config files.

## Current features of Project Warfare include:

- 29 firearms across assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs, sniper rifles, shotguns, launchers, and special weapons. The current lineup includes AK-47, AUG, Advanced AUG, AS VAL, FAMAS, M16, SCAR-H, STG-44, TEC-9, VEL 46, M60, Minigun, Double Minigun, Intervention, Kar98, SPR, Barrett .50 Cal, Pump Action Shotgun, SPAS-12, Sawed-Off Shotgun, Blunderbuss, Bazooka, RPG, Grenade Launcher, Flamethrower, Rail Gun, Bio Cannon, Redstone Rifle, and Redstone Minigun.

- Weapon tuning is config-driven rather than hard-coded. The weapon config surface covers values such as magazine size, reload speed, fire interval, durability, damage, headshot multiplier, knockback, spread, projectile count, pierce behavior, explosion radius, and fire duration where applicable.

- 10 throwable weapons are included: C4, Dynamite, Fire Grenade, Flash Grenade, Frag Grenade, High Explosive Frag Grenade, Molotov, Pipe Bomb, Smoke Grenade, and Stun Grenade.

- Throwable behavior is also configurable. Fuse time, throw speed, blast radius, fire radius, flash radius, smoke radius, and effect duration can all be tuned per throwable where relevant.

- 5 ammo types are currently used: low caliber, high caliber, shotgun ammo, rocket ammo, and slime ammo.

- A Grapple Unit is included as a dedicated traversal tool. It has visible tether rendering, deploy and disconnect behavior, retract and extend interaction, durability, repair support, and full client/server handling rather than being a purely visual toy.

- A full perk system is present. Players can equip up to 3 perks at once, see perk state on the HUD, equip them directly from perk items, and use a dedicated unequip flow. The current perk lineup is Blast Shield, Combat Medic, Demolitionist, Droid Master, Eagle Eye, Engineer, Field Medic, Ghost, Herbalist, Impact, Jetpack, Night Stalker, Quartermaster, Quick Fix, Quick Load, Reaper, Speed, Strong, and Swift Plate.

- Combat support items are a major part of the mod. The medical and survivability lineup includes antibiotics, bandaid, bandage, medicated bandage, armor plate, blood bag, medkit, syringe, medical syringe, speed syringe, and steroid syringe.

- Armor plates are their own supported combat mechanic rather than just another consumable. Plate application, durability loss, and related survivability behavior are all part of the combat loop and tie into the perk system as well.

- A full cannabis pipeline is included with 9 strains: Black Mamba, Blue Dream, Girl Scout Cookies, Lemon Haze, Northern Lights, Panama Red, Purple Haze, Sour Diesel, and White Widow. The system includes growing, harvesting, fresh and dried nugs, joints, oils, and tools like the bong, vaporizer, grinder, rolling paper, and paper filter.

- Portable storage is included through the Storage Buddy system. There is a Storage Buddy item plus 5 storage disc tiers: 4K, 8K, 16K, 32K, and 64K. These discs scale both per-item storage and the number of different item types they can hold, and the system includes its own menu, search flow, upgrade recipe path, and saved data.

- NPC combat content is already substantial. There are 9 faction NPC lines: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, and India. They are built around Project Warfare's own guns, have configurable spawn weapons, attributes, behaviors, and group sizes, and were designed with multiplayer and server performance in mind.

- 9 combat android model tiers are also included, from Model A Red through Model I Black, along with an Android upgrade template. These are not just decorative mobs. They are companion-style combat units with loadouts, ally logic, and Project Warfare weapon support.

- Team and ally systems are built in. Players can create teams, invite others, accept or decline invites, kick members, leave teams, or disband teams. Team state is synchronized, and teammate plus android ally logic is used for identification and friendly-fire protection.

- Survival and modpack-facing utility systems are part of the mod as well. These include starter loadouts, the Loadout Token, custom chest loot injection, optional removal of default chest loot before replacement, right-click harvesting, numeric combat HUD elements, player identity settings like hidden nametags and teammate markers, recipe book control, toast control, mouse and container shortcuts, configurable attribute caps, and hiding of Minecraft's experimental world warning.

- Project Warfare also includes custom music support. Its soundtrack can join vanilla Minecraft's normal music timing, replace vanilla's participation in those timing slots, or be disabled independently through client config.

- Optional Jade integration is supported when Jade is present, so supported systems can expose richer tooltip data without making Jade a hard requirement.

- Most major systems are configurable through separate common, consumable, NPC, perk, weapon, and client config files. In places where you want to hard-prune content rather than only tune it, pack-side tools like KubeJS or ItemObliterator may still be useful.

## Project Warfare Core (NOT INCLUDED WITH PROJECT WARFARE BY DEFAULT)

Project Warfare Core is the companion framework mod that goes alongside Project Warfare. It is not the large gameplay-content pack. Its purpose is to support curated modpack and server environments through shared rules, client-policy enforcement, presentation control, and atmosphere.

Some brief technical notes about what Project Warfare Core does so far:

- Supports strict version matching between server and client. It can require the exact same Core version during handshake when that policy is enabled.

- Includes a client settings policy system. The server can define authoritative client values and require connected players to keep those values applied while they are on the server.

- That policy currently covers FOV, render distance, simulation distance, and entity shadows.

- Includes automatic client application and attestation logic, meaning the client can auto-apply the locked values and the server can require the client to continue acknowledging that they are still in place over time.

- Disables relevant client controls when those settings are locked, so players are not shown sliders or toggles that the server is immediately going to override anyway.

- The mod includes title-screen presentation customization. The menu path supports Project Warfare-branded title text, custom background art handling, and optional removal of the Realms button so the menu presentation fits the modpack identity more cleanly. The title text itself can also be changed through config.

- Atmospheric client fog is built in. This includes heavier far-distance fog and fog-color darkening to create a more enclosed, war-torn visual atmosphere.

- Includes a configurable fall-damage grace system. Instead of replacing vanilla fall damage entirely, it adds extra safe fall distance before normal vanilla damage calculation continues.

- In practical terms, Project Warfare Core is the governance and presentation layer for the broader Project Warfare ecosystem. Project Warfare is the content mod. Project Warfare Core is the companion infrastructure mod that keeps curated multiplayer environments visually and mechanically consistent.
