Productive Frogs

Renewable resources, farmed by frogs. Prime slimes with iron, copper, diamonds, or whatever resource you want, feed them to your frogs, and harvest the Froglights they drop. Slime Milkers keep the loop running unattended.

What's new

v1.25.0 - 2026-07-24 - Second Helpings

Three features carried back from the 2.x line, which had moved on to Minecraft 26.1 as a standalone mod. The 1.21.1 line stays frozen otherwise.

Added

  • The Virtual Terrarium - one frog's whole eat loop inside two blocks. Craft the Processor and a glass Display Dome, set the Dome on the Processor to form it, drop a netted frog in, and feed it its milk: Slime Milk of its own species for a Resource frog, Mimic Milk for a Midas. It eats on its own and drops the results out the bottom, with no live frogs or slimes on the ground and no floor space taken. The milk is spent by spawns, not by the liquid, so a bucket only empties once its spawns run out, and Endless milk never does. A bucket fills and drains the tank both ways, so a broken block never mints one. Four upgrade slots tune it: Bounty adds an output per eat (up to eight), Appetite shortens the cycle (up to eight), a Smelter or Melter turns Froglights straight into their smelted item or a molten fluid out the bottom (one or the other), and an Overclock runs the whole block faster off RF (up to three, and the only upgrade that needs power). It reads out on Jade and has a full guide entry. One frog runs at the normal rate, so a full Terrarium still out-produces it; what you get is a hands-off, hidden build with no upkeep. A void-tier build, so it lands late.
  • The Slime Milk Basin - a milk source you can pipe and leave alone. Pour any variant's Slime Milk into the Basin and it spawns that variant's Resource Slimes around itself, on the same interval and the same budget a placed source runs. The difference is what happens when it runs dry: a placed source drains away and has to be re-placed, where the Basin just empties and sits there waiting for the next bucket - so you can run a pipe into one and never touch it again. It is waterloggable and holds the milk inside the block, so you can drop it straight into a pool without the milk and the water interacting, and slimes spawn into the surrounding water. Catalysts work on it exactly as they do on a pool, by dropping them in or by right-click. Slimes prefer to appear beside the Basin rather than above it, so a frog at the same level can reach them. Boss-tier milk is refused - the Basin cannot build the six-face catalyst altar the source needs, so it will not be an altar bypass. Note that breaking a Basin loses the milk inside it, so drain it back into a bucket first if you want to keep the budget and catalysts. The placed source is untouched; this is a second way to spawn slimes, not a replacement.
  • The in-game guide covers the new blocks, and four things it had been missing. New entries for the Virtual Terrarium and the Slime Milk Basin, plus Frog Legs, the Potion of Hopping, the Froglight Cleaver, and the Tadpole Bucket - all of which the book had left out. The Sprinkler entry now covers its redstone switch, and the Casting Mold page says which Froglights melt and cast back.
