What's new
Productive Bees Genesis 1.0.2 is a stability and performance release for Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge.
New features
- CREATIVE upgrade for apiaries: every apiary tier can now install the MEKExtras CREATIVE upgrade (STACK remains excluded). It draws no energy and produces every game tick, with the upgrade window showing "Efficiency: ∞ / Energy: 0".
- AE2 native energy toggle: with Applied Flux installed, apiaries and centrifuges can independently turn off AE2 native energy extraction. Energy then comes only from AppliedFlux-stored FE, so a low-FE network can no longer be drained into a blackout.
- Centrifuge priority enhanced: with centrifuge priority on, honeycombs are written straight into adjacent centrifuge inputs instead of filling the apiary's output slots first; buffered honeycombs are never discarded — overflow goes back to the AE network first, with a last-resort queue behind that.
- Dynamic upgrade bonuses: the bonus numbers shown in the tooltips of productivity, time, and stability upgrades are now read at runtime from the Productive Bees config file, so they always match your actual PB configuration.
Fixes and compatibility
- Crashes without AE2 (Issue #8): the mod now runs fine with just Productive Bees and Mekanism. Placing or loading apiaries, starting production, opening the centrifuge GUI, clicking config buttons, and re-entering worlds no longer crash; AE2 without Applied Flux falls back to native AE energy. The fixes cover every apiary and centrifuge tier.
- Energy bars on AE2-powered machines: energy injection now fills the internal container, so the bar shows full when power is plentiful instead of hovering near zero; a single extraction takes at most 95% of the network stock, so several machines topping up together can't drain the ME network into a blackout.
- Late-placed centrifuges are discovered: a centrifuge placed next to an apiary joins the direct-eject and priority paths on the very next game tick — no more side-config edits or toggling to make it show up.
- Defensive hardening: any future missed call path is logged with throttling instead of crashing the game or server.
Performance
- GUI energy bar throttling: the energy bar syncs every 5 game ticks (immediately on changes above 1% of capacity), cutting network packets by roughly 80% while a GUI is open and stopping per-tick jitter under acceleration.
- AE2 output push protection: pushes now run under a time budget with backoff, so a slow or full ME storage no longer triggers full retries every tick; multiple machines also stagger their retries, smoothing out lag spikes.
- Batched energy deduction under acceleration: at 256×/1024×, energy is deducted once per real game tick (identical totals), greatly reducing container writes.
- Caching and serialization: bee data is only re-serialized when it actually changes while a GUI is open; upgrade multipliers are cached and refresh instantly on upgrade changes — big factories are lighter on CPU and the network alike.
