Primitive Crafting
Primitive Crafting adds a new way of crafting items directly in your inventory.
By default, you can only craft items that consist of only two crafting components, like torches or sticks.
However, there is also a config option that enables crafting with all recipes that have at most two different components.
To start crafting, pick up a stack and hover over another stack in your inventory, then press shift.
If you want to craft, left click.
You can also craft the entire stack at once. To do that, also hold space while holding shift, then left click.
Sometimes, a recipe can have more than one output.
One such example is the recipe for sticks and wooden pressure plates.
To select the recipe that you want, hold left alt (LMENU) to bring up the radial menu.
Then just drag your mouse to the recipe you want to select and let go of left alt. Then, click on the stack to craft.
If you enable the config option "recipesWithMultipleIngredients", you will be able to craft items
that need more than two ingredients, as long as there are at most two different ingredients in the recipe.
All Keybinds can be rebound.
Primitive Crafting becomes especially useful when crafting items with ingredients that don't stack.
This video clearly illustrates the speed of Primitive Crafting:
Customizability
In the config, recipe registration can be enabled and disabled. You can also add (or remove) recipes using CraftTweaker.
If you're making a modpack, you can also disable the inventory crafting grid in the config.
The inventory crafting grid can be enabled again in the config or using Gamestages.

Not sure if you support 1.12 or not but none of this mod's features are working.
Holding space, left shift, left menu & left/right-clicking while hovering over items, doesn't do anything, as if not even installed.
Also, what format do we use to specify items in the whitelist/blacklist.
Will this be updated to 1.16.4?
EDIT: just saw the blacklist, no worries
hello brother, how can I make it craft Unlit Torches from Realistic Torches mod instead of Vanilla torches when that mod is installed?
HI!!! Will this be available in 1.16?
In reply to modeeves:
Yes it will, when I have time to update it.
In reply to Tschipp:
YES!!! IT'S worth the wait ^_^
Does this only work with vanilla recipes/items?
In reply to aTrunk:
No, works with all modded recipes
Can I make it so only some recipes I can make so only like the ones I don’t need crafting tables for
In reply to Forge_User_62009417:
Not currently, but this could be a future config option
does this work on client side only?
I got a idea : how about do not need open inventory ,hold the items in both hands and shift+right-click(or other key)to complete the craft?
This ensures that you can look around while crafting items in potentially dangerous environments.
In reply to gua12ab:
Interesting... really like that idea...
In reply to Tschipp:
Indeed, interesting. Like you just smack those two things together to craft something...
Hello, I noticed something weird related with ingot crafting and uncrafting. (I assume this would work with block crafting and uncrafting too, or even worse if you had a compression mod, compressed block crafting and uncrafting.) If you craft an ingot into 9 nuggets, it will turn into 9 nuggets. Then if you split the stack of nuggets, then use one pile of nuggets on the other using the primitive crafting technique (with complex recipes enabled), it leaves a nugget in your hand while crafting the ingot. This leaves you with ten nuggets. You can repeat this for a pretty much slow way of getting ingots. I haven't tested this with anything other than iron, so if you try to reproduce this, use iron.
Edit: Just tested it with lapis to lapis blocks, and yeah, it still does that. And you can do it with iron blocks. And compressed iron blocks... you get the idea, this pretty much breaks the game.
Edit edit: A little bit of reproduction info, this only works if you have a stack of 5 and 4. Sometimes it just deletes your items. You know, it could be because I have like 90 mods on this thing and it's super slow.
In reply to CubixThree:
This will be fixed with version 1.4.0
When you disable the inventory crafting grid, does it disappear?
In reply to Forge_User_57787369:
No, just the output slot
Does this behave well with mouse tweaks? They mess with modifiers and dragging items around in inventories as well.
Personally, I'd like a config to allow in other inventories, if that's not too big of a pain.
Nice work! Poster-child for a simple, one-function mod.
Can you fix gray texture effect? I'm using resource loader for replace the blocked inventory texture. It's like a texture pack so I have no edited your mod.
Also I have this crash:
